Thank you for posting this Simeon.  I remember seeing this remarkable young man on the news when he, along with his family, was given a new house adapted for his needs.  He was so grateful and humble yet in so much pain.  I didn't know about his interviews on Special Books by Special Kids but will check it out.

I came across the quote:

''John was a true inspiration whose strength, courage, and kindness touched countless lives. Despite facing challenges, he lived life with purpose, raising awareness for Epidermolysis Bullosa and advocating for others with unwavering determination. He will be remembered for his resilience, his spirit, and the light he brought to so many''----Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella released a statement on Dilgen's death.

May he rest in peace!

Reading his obituary, John's father had died already so his Mom would now be really alone as his sister is married and probably lives else where.  Doesn't say where his brother lives.

Oh my!!! I did not catch that. His dad was featured in the videos I posted. What a loss!!!

I was listening to Fr. Mawdsley commenting on his book "Crucifixion to Creation", and he said something that was piously humorous, I hope it brings others joy.

We're born with a particular network of people at a particular time and place where we have to show the glory and triumph of self-sacrifice, of the cross in our circuмstances and that way, God can show that through every culture in every time, He is able to elevate man from the dirt into the fruit, and all the time the devil is trying to heap dung on us, actually it is just fertilizer. All the troubles of life they're just going to make the plant grow more sweet.
