  • +Francis is asking for temporal peace and earthly help.  We might get what he asked for, temporarily, but it’s definitely not the long-term, SPIRITUAL solution of Fatima.

  • Anybody else notice that Fatima isn't even mentioned?

I'm beginning to think all of the "excitement" about this being the "real" consecration was manufactured or imagined.

Exactly who thought this was supposed to be the Consecration per Fatima?  Clearly not Bergoglio.

  • To state this in plain Amurikan English: Rabbi Berg ain't the Pope and this ain't no formula in accord with them apparaitions at Fatima and Tuy.

It was most likely manufactured. As you already know well, the Tradservatives and Neo-SSPXers are eating it up.

I'm willing to bet the pre-Mass rosary intentions will omit asking for the Consecration of Russia in my chapel starting this Sunday...

  • Nothing about sin - or our offences against God.

    Just "Almighty Man."

Certainly nothing about the sacrilegious crimes of the New Church/Vatican II.

  • "Therefore, Mother of God and our Mother, to your Immaculate Heart we solemnly entrust and consecrate ourselves, the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine."

Additional fluff and ecuмenical language no withstanding, this Consecration prayer satisfies the requirement of Fatima, and it is being performed by the Pope in union with all the world's bishops.

I'm not sure where you get the "all" part of "with all the bishops of the world".  Seems to fall short.

In addition, this isn't a consecration of Russia.  This is a consecration of "ourselves, the Church, and all humanity" (with a shout-out to Ukraine and Russia as being part of that "humanity").  And even then, this shout-out happens to call out Russia and Ukraine, thereby distancing this even more from Our Lady's request, as if this is not really a response to her request, but an independent situation related to the current conflict.  Consequently, I would also have liked to see an explicit reference to this being a response to Our Lady's request at Fatima vs. a response to the current situation in Ukraine.

Nor is there any notion of making reparation for the blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  This is merely a prayer of petition (not reparation) asking for peace.

    This seems to fall short.

I was hoping it would have met all the criteria, because it would have helped to resolve our dispute over whether Jorge Bergoglio is a legitimate pope.

I would also have felt better if they thought to mention Our Blessed Mother's name.  "Mother of God, our Blessed Mother Mary".  Otherwise, whose to know if by "Mother" Bergoglio doesn't mean Pachamama?  It's there at the beginnig but not right at the consecration.

  • Actually, is this the real formula that Francis is going to use?  Or is this just what the Arch. of St. Paul, MN is going to use?

And he apparently has asked the bishops of the world to join him -

Pope Francis has asked bishops around the world to join him March 25 in consecrating Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, something bishops in every part of the globe had started announcing the minute they heard what the pope had planned.

  • If I were God, I would reject this on the grounds of sappiness alone ... even if it said "I and the bishops of the world consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in reparation for the blasphemies and insults to which she has been subjected by mankind."  Invalidity ex adjunctis on account of the rest of that garbage in this text.

In fact, as soon as he got to "community of nations", God should pull the old gong out (like the Gong Show).

LOL, this reminds me of a time when my brother Steve, God rest his soul, was applying for High School (a Jesuit High School).  His grade school (both of these were NO) had an essay contest where he could win a $750 scholarship toward his tuition.  So my brothers and I joined up and stitched together this absurd and ludicrous parody of NO-speak, including phrases like "this community of sharing and caring", and, later, "a rainbow of caring and sharing", stitched together, one after another, meaninglessly, into an absurd tapestry of bovine excrement.  .... Steve won the scholarship, first prize.  We have laughed about that ever since.

When we went to our NO parish, before we knew of the Tridentine Mass, we had this thing we kept in our home that we called the "Wall of Sacrilege" where we would put up newspaper/magazine articles about various sacrilegious and blasphemous happenings at our parish and also "collected" various sacrilegious items.  Among other things, we appropriated the "15th Station".  We also had a copy of the infamous and little known "Glory & Praise Volume 4" ... which included great hits like "Giant Love Ball" song.

When he said "you and I will be like love balls", I laughed so hard that I've still got tears in the corners of my eyes!

  • Amazing that anyone can say this is a "Prayer of consecration of Russia" when the prayer itself says it's for the Consecration of "ourselves, the Church, and all humanity".

    love balls...cajones d'amour......

This song makes me want to shot some lead balls into all the insipid song books out there.

And some rubber ones into the arses of the respective masses.

  • Taken From: "The Whole Truth About Fatima" by Frere Michel de la Sainte Trinite

THE REQUEST FOR THE CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA

(Sister Lucia speaking about the apparition at Tuy, Spain; June 13th, 1929)

Then Our Lady said to me: “The moment has come when God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means.”

“So numerous are the souls which the justice of God condemns for sins committed against Me, that I come to ask for reparation. Sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray.”

I gave an account of this to my confessor, who ordered me to write what Our Lord willed to be done.

    LATER ON, OUR LORD COMPLAINS

Later on, by means of an interior communication, Our Lord said to me, complaining: “They did not want to heed My request!... Like the King of France they will repent and do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church: the Holy Father will have much to suffer.”

    THE MOST PRECISE REQUEST

Let us point out right away that in 1930, in two letters to Father Gonçalves, Sister Lucy was to express in a slightly different manner the requests of Heaven, closely associating the devotion of reparation on the Five First Saturdays of the Month with the Consecration of Russia:

"The good Lord promises to end the persecution in Russia, if the Holy Father will himself make a solemn act of reparation and consecration of Russia to the Sacred

Hearts of Jesus and Mary, as well as ordering all the bishops of the Catholic world to do the same. The Holy Father must then promise that upon the

ending of this persecution he will approve and recommend the practice of the reparatory devotion already described."*

*Letter received by Father Gonçalves on May 29, 1930 (Doc., p. 405). The letter of the following June 12, addressed to the same person, literally employs the same formula (Doc., p. 411) which indissolubly unites the Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
