Ironically for a film that came out of Hollywood (made by Spielberg nonetheless), Jurassic Park had a lot to say about why "scientific progress" should be viewed with caution, not blind acceptance. That's probably because the author of the book behind the movie (Michael Crichton), despite not having the True Faith, was wise on this issue. It's similar to how Orwell was wise to the evils of Communist totalitarianism, which he illustrated brilliantly in his books 1984 and Animal Farm.
