I am amazed at the cognitive dissonance people are capable of in seeing these things and rationalizing them.

Maria, NewChurch is canonizing anyone who breathed Vatican City air in the last 50 years.

He also died after a long and debilitating illness. One could say that he had his purgatory in this life so that he could avoid it in the next.

To be honest, these canonisations are probably the greatest scandal ever to occur in the Church. Time was Saints were canonised not because they were PRESUMED to be in Heaven, but as examples of Catholic living when on Earth. Throughout the ages they were few and far between.
But this Vatican II Newchurch want all to believe they are MORE CATHOLIC than at any time in its history. Normally we Catholics saw saints as examples of giving their whole lioves for God in a special way, but when asked to believe modernist pope after pope is a saint, well I for one cannot. It would be interesting to know what obligations Catholics have towards such 'saints.' Obviously it was never envisaged that the Church would canonise men who are held in contempt by some of the flock. A saint should be beyond criticism.

Among the popes from 1800 to 1958, only 1 was canonized.
But right after 1958, from John XXIII onwards, EVERY single pope is a "saint". :o
The world has been declining and declining, yet the popes are getting "holier" and "holier". ::)

Except John Paul I ... he didn’t have enough time to “update” and “renew” anything in the great mystery of the “god (sic) of surprises”
