Title: Poor Catholic woman poisoned by feminism
Post by: Matthew on August 04, 2009, 09:21:52 AM
One woman said this about "Divine Favors Granted to St. Joseph"

This book is making me want to leave the church. I'm a daily communicant
but it is hurting me. The first chapter or so talks about and drives home
and drills in the authority of St. Joseph as MAN OF THE HOUSEHOLD. This is
extremely EXTREMELY offensive because it's terrifying to women. Men are
twice the size and strength of women. Why on earth would any woman want to
enter into a union where he is going to be her authority and she has to
obey him? I did this. And if I didn't obey I was hit. Needless to say after
25 years I not only had to get a divorce WITH a lifelong restraining order
but I didn't want to live any more. Every time I read this from the
Catholic library of writing I want to be a Protestant. This has to be re
written or taken off the shelves. It is in total opposition to St.
Bridget's revelations - page 23, 24. And it will drive people
away from the church and away from devotion to St. Joseph.

In that book, the author says that Saint Joseph was too humble to demand anything of his wife or his son; he always asked them to do what he thought needed to be done. They always did what he asked, though.

Quote from: MrsZ
many of these women had annulments granted and are married again.

God Bless,
MrsZ

Physical abuse isn't grounds for an annulment. The wife can separate from her husband, however.
