Have folks here heard about that new smartphone game called Pokemon Go? I suspect that it's a Jєω creation/diversion designed to cause the goyim to make complete asses out of themselves. Your thoughts? I have the same opinion of Candy Crush and all such trifling time-wasters.

Also, it's being used by criminals to target idiots, who play the game, for robbery.

Police in O'Fallon, Missouri are investigating a series of armed robberies believe that the robbers used the Pokemon Go smartphone app to target victims, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.

Four suspects were arrested early Sunday morning near the intersection of Highway K and Feise Road in O'Fallon after a report of an armed robbery. Police say they are suspected of multiple armed robberies in St. Louis and St. Charles counties in Missouri. A handgun was recovered.

Police believe they used the game to, "add a beacon to a pokestop to lure more players" and then used the app to locate victims.

Pokemon Go is an "augmented reality" game that allows users to capture, train and battle Pokemon who appear in the real world. Players can pick up supplies at real-world landmarks that serve as "pokestops" in the game.

Pokemon GO users have also reported becoming injured while trying to catch the digital monsters.

There have been several injuries in the news, people staring at their device screen and walking into danger, either the path of a motor vehicle or a ditch or right off a cliff. One girl thought she'd go down to a nearby stream to look for a pokemon, and instead she found a dead man's body, face down in the water. Someone planted one pokemon out on a rickety pier at water's edge, and dozens of people showed up to look for it, when the old pier was not in condition to handle the weight of all the people. Fortunately no collapse occurred, but questions are raised as to what the game's owner's responsibility is going to be in such cases. Some stores are using this to get people into their aisles looking for pokemon, for meanwhile, maybe they could need an item that's on the shelf for sale.

In any event, the game owner's stock went up dramatically when the game was released.

It's sort of related to the recent uptick in deaths due to people trying to get selfies of themselves, and they fall over a precipice because they're not paying attention to where they're stepping. I've seen numerous people lately step right off the curb to cross the street, just as I'm approaching the intersection, and these lame brains couldn't be aware of a car coming because they don't bother to turn their head and look for oncoming traffic. If I had not stopped I would have hit about 6 pedestrians last month alone. One of them was on a skateboard and he literally leaped off the curb into the street in front of me as I was about to turn right crossing his path.

I know a fair bit about the game through social media and apparently, these are randomly generated through Google Maps and any building is criteria for such... hence why in Utah, a lot of Mormon church buildings are a spot for this game, for example.

Today I saw to teenage girls walking through a busy parking lot, oblivious to the moving cars, and they were both tugging at the smartphone. I guess they only had one phone. They did this for the entire length of the lot, and cars had to stop and wait for them.

Then later, at a Starbucks, what appeared to be a mother and daughter, came in and walked around doing this, both of them vying for control of the phone, as they both talked to each other at the same time, and none of it made any sense to me.

If there was some kind of prize or objective it might make more sense, but they say that all you get is the ability to tell someone that you found a peekachoo or a valdermort or whatever. Whoopee.

That's interesting, the connection with Google Maps.

I wonder if hordes of Pokemon seekers are going to show up at St. Dominic's Chapel looking for this or that Pokemon?
