  • What the HECK are you talking about?

Please don't make me the bad guy when I'm not. You have not been threatened in any way, with banning or any other consequences. And I haven't the faintest idea why you think "this may possibly be my last post" due to "the decision of Matthew".
Well, since you asked....you might want to take a look at the OP just under this thread.  The subject line is
    klasG4e

P.S. Why would anyone ever dream of making you "the bad guy?"

    Oh, now I get it.

You did make one mistake -- your melodramatic confession and baring of your soul went completely unnoticed by me! hahaha  I have to laugh because I imagine if such a thing happened in real life -- it would never happen, unless I consciously ignored you. But on a forum, such a thing is possible.

I'll see your charity and raise you humility -- to you it was all a big deal, but I was completely unaware of it.

And I don't automatically click on all vanity/personal/"look at me" threads. I find them rather annoying, actually. You are by no means the only member to make such a thread, but I dislike all such threads equally.

I don't even remember why I banned you. (there's another dose of humility for you again -- apparently I don't give you much thought at all).
Was it about Trump? That's my only guess.

Again, it's nothing personal, but in my doctrinal, human nature-based well-founded opinion, ALL creators of vanity threads could use more humility. Just like all solid water needs more heat if becoming liquid is the goal. Just a simple fact. And I state it with about as much relish, emotion, or thrill as stating that 2+2=4.

  • I was wondering last night why someone (Mark79) would even bother to post about their illnesses in such detail and bring it up yesterday. I thought he was sick again. If I were that badly sick, the last thing I would be doing is writing about it to really, complete strangers. I'd be with my family taking care of myself. Why would Mark79 bring this thread back about himself yesterday when he was at his usually self, purposefully conveniently concocting false conjectures of his own making to make character assassinations of people that disagree with him?.  This thread confused me completely yesterday, it reads like Mark79 is pretty much dying. Why did he bring this up out of thin air? Then when I tell Mark79 that he should be taking care of himself about all the insults and hate that he spills on people, because he could soon be meeting his maker, the impression I had from this posting yesterday. He answers back that he is fine that he is working.

I smell something strange there. This smells like some kind of a bad cop good cop routine by one person. But, that's just me. AND this is the problem with the internet one can't see the person and how they really are, one only gets that from seeing the person regularly about town and talking to them.

For the average person that does not read every word of threads like this, and so they do not make the same mistake that I did, here is the short of it:

Mark79 is not sick and dying in the hospital, this thread is over one year old!

I agree. Very odd. Good questions. Why bring up a thread about himself, when he is fine? And....another odd thing....many of the forum members seem to enjoy it when he insults others in an extreme manner. What does that say about traditional Catholics? It's creepy, IMO.

I'm beginning to think that traditional Catholicism is not what it purports to be.

I see this all the time in the real world. They are scared of falling victim to the person themselves, so they kiss up to him. It is just cowardice.

Just think of it as a unique opportunity to practice patience. Unique in that that physically they can't touch you, they are just words on the screen. Also it reveals their real inner self, so the more bile they post the more people see who they really are, they hang themselves.

In a person to person a man would never talk like that, they would have gotten taken care of with a fist as soon as they went out the door or entered school. That is if they are boys. Girls are a different story, they can be like that all their lives.

I agree that it is a good opportunity to practice patience. Which is needed by many of us, me especially. And, yes, the type of vitriol that Mark79 dishes out does reveal who he truly is; hence, perhaps, the recent posting by him on this thread - in order to make himself look like a really nice guy (which he clearly isn't). Trouble is, most of the forum members like it. They like (even the forum owner) the nastiness of Mark79. They can't get enough of it. There's something wrong in the world of Tradition.

Even if it's easier to be nasty on the internet, it doesn't explain why trads are so enamored with someone like him.

Maybe it is a computer geek thing? They lack social skills, so they live in a virtual world with pen "pals", fake friends, and they can say anything to anyone without anyone knowing who they are or getting beat up?

I'm a jock, I can't stand being couped up in the house for very long. And with that, I'm out of here for the day.

That could be it, but the fact that forum members (including the owner) continue to support someone like Mark79 is a big problem. In my opinion. It's not really about Mark79, so much as it's about why trads here are so taken with him. If they were truly looking for sanctity, they would not support someone like him. But they do. Meaning that they (at least on this forum) are not any better than Novus Ordo Catholics. Not at all. They can have all of the "correct" views about doctrine, but if they have not charity, then they are not Catholic.

It is just cowardice and do not make the mistake of thinking that many support him, it is just the few people that kiss up to him enough to write, the rest do not write. It is no different in the real world, like I said before, it is just the kiss butts that support him, because they are scared of him.

Yes, you may be correct, and I appreciate your good explanations.  On the other hand, it almost seems as if Mark79 is intentionally and knowingly trying to make Traditional Catholicism look bad. And forum member here just go along with it.

Mark79 came back to, basically, thank people.  I think it was nice he came back and let people know how he is doing after such a crisis.

  • Don't ya'll have anything better to do an openly talk smack about someone on the forum you disagree with? You obviously have disagreements about things, clearly from the Marijuana thread, but these last few posts are completely out of line. Do something better with your time.

  • People, please!
All I got from Mark's note was:

"So a short summary of my/our ordeal"
"Thanks to all known and anonymous for prayers, Masses & etc."
    "Mea culpa"

...and that triggers a feeding frenzy in the vulture reserve? C'mon folks!
