  • I am interested in undertaking a pilgrimage to a traditional monastery in a German-speaking country. I am not sure how it is supposed to work, but I have acquaintances who have gone to Clear Creek in OK.

Can an American, or anyone for that matter, in exchange for work and contribution, stay at a traditional monastery in either Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or even Liechtenstein?

  • Do you mind me asking why you have a preference for German speaking countries? I'm only curious.

Also, have you thought about making a visit to the NM benedictine monastery ?

Because I speak some German and plan to travel to the Alpine areas, where, as you most likely know, is the most Catholic. I am familiar with the fact that the whole of Europe and Germany is secular and modernist(and Muslim), but there have to be pockets of Tradition there. I know of the semimary in Wigritzbad and the HQ's of the SSPX and FSSP in Switzerland. But would they house a pilgram?

Yes, I have thought about visiting a few monasteries out West here, with the one(the name escapes me) in WY being the closest--most likely an 8 hr drive for me.
