Anyone here of Irish descent, how do you explain the Republic of Ireland allowing in Barack Obama to the country and all the people happy to see him there? I would please love an explanation...

On my father's side, my (too many "greats" to count) grandfather was convicted by the Brits in the 18th century of the petty crime of stealing three silk handkerchiefs and was then shipped to Maryland. On my mother's side, my great-great-great-grandfather came here during an Gorta Mór. Having said that, just because I'm of Irish descent doesn't necessarily mean that every single person in Ireland shares my political views or even my religion. Unfortunately, today's Ireland is no more Catholic than Novus Ordites in general are.

A. Because the Republic of Ireland is not a Catholic Government.

There are some faithful left in Ireland, but it is no longer the great Catholic Country that it once was. St. Patrick, pray for us!

The same is common throughout the whole world though... France, which is considered the eldest daughter of the Church is filled with Muslims. As long as un-Catholic governments rule the countries throughout the world, immorality will prevail. This is why we need to pray for the coming of the Great Monarch and Holy Pope to restore the Faith throughout the face of the earth.

On one of the trans-Ireland highways, I think the one going from Limerick to Dublin, there's a Barack Obama Plaza in Moneygall where you can get pizza, sandwiches, petrol, etc. They're really pushing it here.

Sinn Fein is a political party that is similar to the Democrat party in America.
