People confusing Deluded and Diluted

A perfect example for the phenomenon of "people don't read anymore" -- this is the kind of word that suffers worst.

When you say "diluted" or "deluded" it usually sounds exactly the same.

However, when you see it in print, you see the words aren't even close in meaning. I never mixed these words up or noticed they were similar! Until 2025 when I heard several people using them improperly.

(You CAN pronounce the two words differently if you're a T-pronouncer. Some people do this on occasion.)

Long story short, people need to read more!

They sure don’t sound the same in NYC area!
