  • It was promoted as an "instant bridge", something expedited to make a deadline. That's really sickening.

  • New pedestrian bridge collapses at Florida international university.  Rescue efforts underway.  8 cars crushed under the new bridge.

I read this entire evening-updated article by the most-local major daily paper:

"Did construction technique lead to FIU pedestrian bridge collapse?"
By Andres Viglucci, Joey Flechas, Jenny Staletovich And Rene Rodriguez
    March 15, 2018 09:44 PM (bolding added):

It's "Accelerated Bridge Construction",  which its advocates abbreviate "ABC" (how cute! ).

Yet I still haven't figured out how this has anything to do with the stated purpose of this subforum: (distinctively) "Catholic Living in the Modern World".  The pedestrian bridge was not planned for exclusive use by Catholics, nor was it planned to exclude Catholics.

What I've come to consider the most likely explanation for how topics are repeatedly originally-posted in subforums where they obviously don't belong--here, in this instance--would be criticized as uncharitable (and maybe even as mean-spirited).

Good question. Are there Traditional Catholics at Florida International University? Of course, it's a school of 55,000. Would this belong here? No.
