  • What are people's experience regarding the abortion mills around the country.  I took a road home today I don't usually take which actually has a killing factory on it.  There was one man outside with a sign hanging from his shoulders.  I honked in support but I realized I need to get to there with others opposing.  What is a good way to start massive opposition to the butcher clinics?

  • Trace, often there is no way to start 'massive opposition' to anything. The man you saw was alone; I am sure there have been times when you have felt alone in your convictions as well.

Why not join him? Why not find a suitable public place where you would be able to pass out literature, wear a sign, pray the Rosary?

Where do you live, by the way? There is a clinic not far from me where a solitary man is often seen wearing a sign and/or carrying a Crucifix. I am on the East Coast.

Remember, too, that above ALL else, the most important consideration in protesting these things is that we LIVE SANCTIFIED LIVES; a life that is lived in sin and devoid of grace can have all the moral convictions it wants and still have no power from Heaven.

PRAY Our Lady's Rosary daily. OFFER your sadness and frustration and anger at the horror of the baby-butchering to Our Lord as a reparation for the offenses against His love, mercy, holiness and untold graces. Make good confession often and stay well-read in Scripture, the teachings of the Church and the lives of the saints.

These, and not facts and figures, are the weapons of our warfare. Be careful; there are many, even among so-called Catholics, who have basically tried to turn the anti-abortion issue into a political one. It's not; it's a spiritual and moral one, and the battles can only be won with the weapons from Heaven.

Our Lady, Mother of mothers, pray for us.

St. Gerard Majella, patron of expectant mothers, pray for us.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
This evil of heresy spreads itself. The doctrines of godliness are overturned; the rules of the Church are in confusion; the ambition of the unprincipled seizes upon places of authority; and the chief seat [the Papacy] is now openly proposed as a rewar

  • Yes it is true that it is a spiritual battle. I think we need to shy away from treating it like a protest. I think it is far more effective to make it a prayer vigil and a quiet one.

I have attended many of these and used to be a sidewalk counsellor. I don't go much these days as I was removed from counselling for being "anti-semitic". By this came about through a discussion I had with one of the organisers away from the abortion mill and was nothing to do with anything that happened there.

At the mill I used to attend, people started to treat it too much like a social occasion and there was too much chatting going on. When passers by see you, they will be far more effected by a prayerful look than a protest or social occasion.

At first I found it confronting to be abused and have things thrown at you though after a while you get used to it and it actually feels as if you are making a difference and on a day that I did not cop a lot of abuse I felt like I hadn't achieved much. You can offer that up in reparation for the souls of the mothers and the murders inside.

It is truly satanic and I know this first hand by a comment made to another counsellor by one of the mill staff. She came up to him and said, "How dare you come and pray outside our church!" Yes its truly evil!

Also it is vitally important to never react or respond to any of the abuse as that is exactly what they are looking for. The devil wants to disturb your prayers and when they get the desired reaction then they have achieved their aim and we have been disturbed from out prayers.

  • I was counselling one day and I saw 3 young teenagers approach the abortion mill and they probably would have been about 16 or 17. There were two girls and a boy and the boy looked like the boyfriend of one of the girls.

One of the girls was clearly upset and as they passed us the boy yelled abuse. When they reached to door of the mill, the girl who looked upset looked as if she did not want to enter and the boy tried to push her in. She was resisting and then tried to run down the street.
Both the boy and the other girl stopped her and dragged her in there. She was crying and very upset.

I did not know what to do. One side od me wanted to grab the boy and break his head for forcing someone against their will into the mill though I knew that if I did, the media would turn it into a circus with headlines saying, "Anti-abortionist assaults young boy outside abortion clinic!"

I was also quite shocked at what I had seen and it was quite disturbing.

The reason I point this out is for all those who cry, "Its a woman's choice! Its her body!"
I would like to know where that poor young girl's choice was that morning.

  • You all just reminded me that 40 days for Life is going on right now.  It started on September 28th and goes until November 6th.  Today, the site says that 312 babies have been saved so far in this campaign. Praise and Thanks be to God, Our Blessed Mother and all the angels and Saints.

To find out how you can participate go to:

    http://40daysforlife.com/location.cfm

This campaign has been going on for a few years.  They do one 40 days in the Fall and then another during Lent.  This work really does have an impact.  Sign up for the updates and you'll read stories frequently about women and girls who change their minds about killing their babies and abortion workers who finally wake up and quit their jobs.

Tonight on the site there is a message about an abortion clinic in La Puente, California that CLOSED!!  Thanks be to God.

In my area, people usually go in pairs to pray the Rosary in front of the clinic.  If you go, please be aware that you are not allowed to block the sidewalk and you aren't allowed to be on the actual property of the abortion mill, so do talk to the cordinator before you go.

If you do not have an abortion mill in your town/city, there are other ways that you can get involved:

    http://40daysforlife.com/getinvolved.cfm?selected=outreach

AND of course,  we can all pray and sacrifice in our daily lives to bring an end to this horrific evil which is the whole point of 40 days for Life.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us and bring an end to abortion.

  • I know a young girl that started an anti abortion facebook page.  She actually posted pictures of the murdered babies.  Offensive? It's is just a picture, not the actual act and the pictures would not exist if not for the acts.

  • Has anyone here read the book by Abby Johnson called Unplanned : the dramatic true story of a former Planned Parenthood leader's eye-opening journey across the life line ?

You can read or listen to the 1st chapter here: http://www.unplannedthebook.com/

She now travels across the country giving speeches against abortion and against Planned Parenhood.

I haven't heard her speak yet but some of my family and friends have and if I ever get a chance, I'm going to go.

    Here's her current speaking schedule:

  • I should also say that you should ask your library to carry this book if they don't have it yet.

My library has it and when I first heard about it there was a very long wait to borrow it.
