Title: Oh Gosh, A Real Teenager!
Post by: Cheryl on October 27, 2012, 04:38:15 PM
I came across some videos by this young lady while looking for new ways to tie scarves.   Why can't there be more teenagers like this?

I happen to 'know' her mother. We've been on. Catholic homeschooling board together for about 14 years. Lovely girl, lovely family.
Either she or her sister have entered the convent. I believe it is the second year of her postulancy.

I LOVE her. She (Leah) and her sister (Anna) are at the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, Michigan I believe...

If only we had more women like her around. It seems some of them end up going to the convent. At my work, there was a fellow employee like her case. My other fellow employee, an old lady, hoped I would asked her out, but oh well, I guess it was not meant to be. lol God must come first.

There are several videos by this young woman on you tube, she goes under the name, She Is Catholic.  I saw a video where she interviewed her younger sister who seems to have entered first and the sister was 18.  I'm guessing She Is Catholic, entered a short time later; so I'm guessing 20-ish.  Does anyone have any info on the convent itself?  It's an hour's drive from where I live and I haven't heard of this convent being Trad.  An hour and a half drive in the opposite direction there are Dominican nuns at Bishop Neville's church.  I shared the video so for just a short while all that viewed it could dream of what a wonderful world it would be if all teenagers were like this and of course, Catholic!

As far as I know it's not traditional. However, compared to the 'sisters' at my school (in Massachusetts) they are, in fact, quite traditional. hahahaha but that's NOT saying much....because most, if not all, are short-haired-man-hating-social-justice-extremists where I'm from. I looked into this specific order because I'm drawn to dominican life, but I'm leaning more toward contemplative orders than teaching orders. It is an astonishingly YOUNG order though, which is great.!

Is that the Dominican convent in Connecticut?

My sister was best friends in High School with a nun there.
