obligation to appear catholic?

  •   Is there any obligation for us to appear as less similar to pagans as possible? There are many who just rejoice if they see any catholic act like a non-catholic. They see it as a "proof" of "oneness of religions".
Some infidels too may love to see us behave like them. "look, look, even christians obey truths of our religion. They love it in their hearts!"
Sometimes I think it may be scandal to give such an opportunity to them, so I avoid even things that are allowed. But sometimes it is impossible to both please God and edify others. For example, I hate modern music and think it is an occasion of sin, yet as soon as I object to it, some takes me for a devout moslemah or a catholic in favor of them! (as they are opposed to it too).
      What must I do?

  • There's no problem with what you're doing. You're just saving your soul. Just try avoiding confrontation with anyone.

However, I might add that not all modern music is an occasion of sin. But it's edifying not to listen to them.
