  • Two of these have roots here in San Antonio and will be here for first masses on July 4. I don't know Rev. Anderson, but have spoken with Rev. Goshie on several occassions.

His time at the seminary actually overlaps Matthew's by 3 months or so which really illustrates for me how long they must study to become a priest (6-7 years in this seminary).

  • PS. This flyer says Rev. Goshie is from St. Mary's, KS, but as far as I know, he's from Wimberley, TX.  :cowboy: His mother moved to St. Mary's perhaps a little over a year ago.

  • I lived in KS but I can't remember St. Mary's.  This is certainly a great day for those 9.  I knew they studied a long time, but not that long.

  • How many men started out in this class?  I am asking because I know that the entering seminarian classes started to get large - 20, 25 young (or not so) men - around the time these  priests entered Winona.

  • Doesn't anyone have pictures or stories?  Mater, perhaps you can show us a picture of your church.

    REV. MR. PATRICK MACKIN,
    of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania

I don't have any interesting story on Fr. Mackin but I do have a little tidbit.
The flyer lists that one of Fr. Mackin's first Masses will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Mission in York, PA.  That Chapel is not "officially" an SSPX chapel.  Last year, when we were researching where we could attend a traditional Mass near us, I ran across their website.  The chapel seems to me to be independent.  They aren't SV's but they aren't SSPX either.  They tried for a long time to have whatever Bishop of hαɾɾιsburg recognize them as such.  From what I hear they have quite a few members.  I'm curious if they have contacted SSPX and are hoping to become "official".   Just thought it was interesting.
We live in the Diocese of Scranton, which hates all things traditional and we attend an SSPX chapel in NY state that's fairly close to our home.
