If you can accept that this is what he believes to his very core, then it may be possible to better understand the reasons why he says and does some of the things he says and does.

Friend, he doesn't even believe in Christ, much less ANY Catholic council, doctrine, gospel.

He certainly believes in Christ, same as prots believe in Christ, and the doctrines he believes are doctrines of man.

Correction, he “believes” in Christ, he just doesn’t worship Him. ;)

Although I have no proof to support it I have a theory that at some point the initiates to the higher
levels of freemasonary are shown evidence that the biblical account of man's origins is false.
Perhaps they become privy to the existence of extraterrestrial life and its shaping of our
genetic evolution.
This might explain their callous regard for human life, as they simply see existence in terms of
social darwinism. If man is without a soul then Do What Thou Wilt pretty much.
Or, they fancy themselves as the next step in evolution as all the old gods, beliefs, systems
have become obsolete. Western civilization and its traditions must be swept away to prepare
for the great leap forward...the merging of machine and man aka transhumanism.

That’s possible.
