It's a commonly repeated neocon myth that welfare recipients are often on drugs. Usually that is true in only 1 or 2% of cases.

  • So now we're to be protectionist? Not allowing anyone into the country?

...after all of us IMMIGRANTS have settled in. How do you spell hypocrisy?

How many Americans can say they've been here for more than 6 generations?

Usually, once you take your relative born around 1920 and go backwards, you only have a couple generations and you come up with BIRTHPLACE: GERMANY, BIRTHPLACE: IRELAND or wherever you're from.

Unless you're a WASP of course (White Anglo Saxon Protestant). But very few of those are Catholic...

I guess I get sick of mindless jingoism like this Neocon BS. They're as bad as the far-left commie liberals in how wrong and stupid they are.

The "Borders Language Culture" part suggests the sender is a fan of that garrulous Zionist neocon Michael Savage.

In the abstract, I support all three of those things whole-heartedly. But talk of "Borders" righs a bit hollow in reference to a nation that is more concerned with stepping on the sovereignty of other nations in a perpetual state of imperialist military adventurism. I also wouldn't want any part of a "culture" based on a Christless, deistic constitution and bill of "rights."

The "English only" part, despite my personal annoyance with rampant bi-lingualism, also leaves me a bit cold, as it has ever been used by the WASP elite as a cudgel against ethnic Catholic enclaves.

If this is true, I am glad. I thought more people on welfare did drugs than 1 or 2 %. One thing I do see is people buying beer with EBT money.

  • I don't know what EBT money is, but there's an argument to be made that a large percentage of the urban poor (who often receive welfare benefits) are indeed on prescribed drugs that (1) the less-WASPY folk don't get prescribed, and (2) don't do much for their life expectancies. Does help keep them quiet, though. thelastpsychiatrist.com has some interesting statistics on this topic, which can be verified. (Warning: TLP is probably an atheist).

Of course, that kind of "population control" is across-the-board policy; and not partisan, so it may not apply here. Still, I don't think it's much different than the nαzι ovens or abortion in terms of cruelty. These welfare recipients are usually not well-educated and, unfortunately, trust their doctors. And I guess the drugs do make them feel better, even if they didn't really need them for a headache or tension. And the drugs are extremely habit-forming, and would tend to naturally lead someone to street drugs (or alcohol) to boost the effects.

  • Misconception.  But children of long-term welfare recipients are more likely to be abusers than those who are not.  The worst drug-abusers are able to hide because of their wealth, not poverty.  The homeless addict on the street or in the subway has fallen off the radar of the welfare system.  The majority of welfare recipients in the U.S. are minors under age 12.  Most do not abuse drugs.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.
