I have a family member (#1) who has a family member (#2) that is putting pressure on #1's family to let #2 live with them indefinitely. I am not related to #2--just #1.
#2 quit a stable lucrative career about 5 years ago in anticipation of an economic "reset" in which he will go underground and wait it out and then re-emerge and start over. He lost his very overpriced house to foreclosure and has gone underground to hide from creditors. #2 has been a non-practicing Catholic for 3 or 4 decades. #1 is very religious and #2 has held himself out recently as a quasi-Catholic in the hopes that #1 will let him move in for only God knows how long. #2 is healthy and had a good job record so he's just refusing to work. #2 has no dependents/no wife but he has a large extended family that I think he might have hit the end of the road with so to speak. None of them can or will let him move in with them.
#2 apparently uses scripture out of context (prot bibles) to justify his heretical beliefs and poor behavior. My question is this:
What scripture quotes can #1 use to explain to #2 why he must go back to work and support himself and stop imposing on the charity of others? I ask for scripture quotes because quoting Church teachings isn't going to register with this person because he essentially isn't Catholic and rejects those teachings.
Thanks.
