Title: Need advice
Post by: xavierpope on June 24, 2018, 03:01:34 PM
What do you do to bring people back to the Catholic faith?

I mean we pray for them yes, but what do you do actively to bring people back to God??

It would be a sin to sit around and think they're all going to hell so be it.

Not necessarily.  It's a question of prudence.  Do you think that there's anything you could do or say that would make a difference?  If not, then you could try to do little things gradually that might make the faith appealing to someone.  But no one can give you specifics about what to do or to say unless they know the situation.  Ex-Protestant, atheist, Novus Ordo, Catholic fallen away morally?  Those all entail different approaches potentially.  As St. Thomas taught, you're not obliged to "rebuke the sinner" if you're morally certain that it won't make any difference, and it can even be a virtue not to rebuke them if you think it might even make matters worse.

Work on your self and living your faith.

If you become holier, people will notice, then maybe they might want want you have. The saints often had to run away and hide from needy folk who wanted what they had.

Of course they may also want to stone you, but then you'd be a martyr and even more attractive to some others as well.
