  • They call them the luminous myteries. And, I agree when I hear anyone talk of light, I remember the Angel of Light is the fallen one.

  • The Luminous Mysteries, Uriel, are another set of five mysteries that Pope John Paul II introduced in addition to the traditional three sets of five mysteries. It is simply another novelty out of place from Catholic Tradition. The mysteries of Light in and of themselves are good, but the problem is with the fact that they were added as an unnecessary novelty to the Rosary.

  • The Luminous Mysteries contain nothing wrong really, I think it is perfectly fine to pray them as a chaplet of sorts, but not as a substitute for the Holy Rosary.

  • You need to look up the history of the Rosary. It was meant to reflect the 150 psalms. Hence, 150 Hail Marys, AKA the "Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary," 15 decades, not 20.

Beads were previously used as early as the 7th Century, but it was called the "Psalter of Mary" still including 150 Hail Marys still reflecting the 150 Psalms.

Don't you see how this is corrupting what was already there, totally taking out the meaning of the entire exercise?

Plus, how more obvious can you get to call them the "Luminous Mysteries?"

This is the first Rosary Novena. It originated in 1884, when an incurably sick girl had a vision of Our Lady, and she instructed her on the practice, as her family was praying for this poor girl to regain her health.

Thanks, I didn't know this stuff either, until I looked it up.
