My kids want a taste of Protestant community
« on: January 07, 2016, 09:45:54 PM »
Dwindling catholic communities (especially rural canada) . Surrounded by conservative, happy, very social Protestant families with large families. My kids can't help but notice how nice it is to be rich in such an active Christian community.

We all know they are sacrament poor but we can't ignore they are people rich.  What's a mom to do as our kids grow up looking for that void to be filled?

The Catholic Church we have access to is 3hrs away and only ever gets filled during religious  holidays?? The Catholics there don't  have much interest talking about the faith??

Once a catholic gets wind of the john veneris and Michael matts of the world and hangs out in the world of trads were always hungry for more.

Hi Coptic Cruiser, where ya bin? Good to see a post from you.

Now, are your children actually pining over a lack of catholic community, or are you just assuming that they are or might?

Dwindling catholic communities? When we were kids we had Sunday Mass and Catholic school but Catholic community was hardly heard of. That was a different world of course.

Fill us in on how your children spend their time.
Where are they schooled?
How many are they?

I wonder how many of those protestants "talk about the faith"? Don't you think that having parents that care about the faith and talk about will have a deep and lasting effect on their children? Not in all cases, of course. There is always free will to stray from the truth and many chose to.

Can you expound on what you mean byt this please. I don't understand.

I would not want any children of mine to be hanging around any of the Protestant churches if I were you.

Yeah I'm back I use to do my hair put gas in my 4x4 and have all the time in the world!!
God has a sense of humour I have 7 kids going on 8 by August  I homeschool we have a hobby farm with all sorts of animals.

My kids read, build, watch movies, visit friends, hunt, ride horses n ATMs and fish n swim.

I hang out with some conservative Protestants the one family is extra special. Out of 9 kids their 7 are the same age and gender as mine we are so complimentary ! Really get along do a lot of dialogue concerning the one true faith.  If God wants me catholic they say then I will become one so for now trying to learn my faith better.

The john veneri. And Michael matts help keep us informed. Such great resources everywhere. But we lack in a physical catholic community and my kids do notice.

We do explain why it's wrong to attend Protestant services it's hard to balance public life sometimes in the mind of a child.

I really need to update my passports and do a road trip to some TLM parishes in the US. I was thinking ohio and Montana as I live in beautiful British Columbia.

Trying not to think too much about the Fatima anniversary 1yr from now. Things are definitely getting worse around the world I'd like to see some of it before it gets too crazy.

All I can say is I love my trad cath faith, my family and this farm.

Gonna garden like crazy this year!! I'm totally hooked on organic. We've been on raw cows milk for 12yrs and now raw goats milk for the last 5yrs. No turning back now.

If your children think the Catholic faith is in anyway similar to heretical protestantism then you need more Catholic culture in their lives, and they need to understand protestants are not Christians but Heretics.
