My closest city is booming
« on: February 26, 2026, 08:37:29 PM »
I just learned this today --

Seguin, TX went from 29K population in 2020, to 40K in 2025.
So 1 in 4 people in that town have moved in recently (in the past 5 years).
7 new people are moving into Seguin EVERY DAY.

The town is pronounced seh GEEN. It was named after Juan Seguin.

At least they have a great Traditional chapel so close by. I hope some Trad Catholics move in!

They are refugees from places like CA, MA, OR, NY, MD, NJ, etc. Just pray they haven’t imported their red state values and mores with them!  You’ve got plenty of people, both legal and not, from Mexico on south.  What you don’t want are the other desert climate loving people like from certain Islands and the Middle East. They’ve fit right in, in Minnesota, right?
The current occupant of Gracie Mansion is one you don’t want!

I personally would not want to live near the Mexican border.

I looked into Montana for example, and they only have a population of 1.14 million yet they're saying things like, "we're too full" and "no Californians." Seems backwards to me. They have a lot of land and can't grow? Texas don't seem to have this attitude.
