  • You know in our modern-day world there is a completely casual attitude in terms of how sex is discussed, along with rampant pornography and sɛҳuąƖ stimulations. When you have to work with men who try to "dare" you to give into sex, pornography, promuscuity, etc. it is definitely sinful to even hang around them. However some of us have no choice but to work alongside these people. It tells you how our society has gone into the gutter, where sex and marriage and a woman used to be a sacred thing, but nowadays there is a completely casual attitude as to these things and, pardon my language, but "getting some."

  • Do you wear any catholic medal outwardly?  Are you allowed to?  St. Benedict, the Miraculous medal maybe.  When I was on the job, we could not discuss religion, but I did in other ways.  I was an assistant on a school bus.  I wore medals, and gave the children book marks which were pictures off christmas cards.  The students, about age 10 really liked them and then would tell me stories and such.  And some times I would get a reprimand from my boss and I would just go on.  As for the adults I worked around, I never had to say anything, my medal said it all.  Some times if they were using Gods name I would sign myself or the adult saying it would say, "Oh, excuse me ______!  I would reply back, " don't say you are sorry to me, but to Our Lord."  But, they knew where I was coming from and left me alone. On your job, are there any magazines?  My husband and I like putting pictures of saints and such slipped in or such.  IN a hospital, you can slip in church bulletins and such.  When you eat out, put a holy card with your tip at the table.  In order to do something about the world around us, we still can express ourselves in different ways.  People should get the idea if you can openly show a medal and hopefully they will get the idea.  If they ask, point out your medal.

  • Songbird gave very good helpful suggestions.  To that I would add, use your Holy Water!  Take it to your place of work and sprinkle it around, and make sure to bless yourself with it during the day, as you're able.

St. Teresa of Avila spoke often of the great value and power of Holy water.  She said there is nothing like Holy water to put devils to flight and prevent them from coming back again.

Untold spiritual wealth is concentrated in one tiny drop of blessed water!  The devil hates Holy water because of its power over him; he cannot long abide in a place or near a person that is often sprinkled with blessed water.  But, we must remember to use our Holy water with Faith and piety.

Here are some prayers we can say when using our Holy water  http://www.holyreflections.com/Extras/Extras2/HolyWater.html

    God bless you!

  • Morningstar, thank you for the most important addition, Holy Water!  I sprinkle it on my car, on my bed and anywhere I think I should! Have a Tweet Day!

  • I corrected a man once on the bus for saying his friend across the seat was a slut and other negative terms. She then spoke up to say he is right.   and was giddy.

  • Recently, at e High School graduation party for a neighbor, another guest told a breathtakingly crude joke.  I say this because even the heathens present were offended, and looked shocked.  I asked him if he would want someone to tell this joke around his daughter.  "Dude," he said, "My daughter is the one who told the joke to me."  I have gotten over the annoyance I felt at being called "Dude" by a man in his forties.  I have not gotten over the sense of defeat I felt at the fact that this man has raised a daughter in such a vile way.

I am sorry you have to deal with such an environment. I work with crass, inconsiderate people as well. Women are as bad as men, however what I struggle with is men who think it is okay to just touch a woman in passing or start grazing her back or shoulders and what not.  Maybe I have become too sensitive, but I feel very uncomfortable with it.

  • Any touching at work/on the job is boarder line sɛҳuąƖ harassment.  Remind the person and they should leave you alone.  On my job, a lady put a note in a gentleman's box and he reported it and that lady lost her job.  So, if you don't like it, tell them so.

  • You are called to a special kind of holiness. In this case the best thing is to try to go to daily mass. Frequent confession and daily mass, this is the recipe. Read from the lives of the saints. And also get to know the fathers of the desert. This is what will help you. Real holiness is not easy. If it was eveerybody would be saints. You have to do your best.

"and they cast off all restraints"

Then again, women to day are proud of the term "ho" and use it to describe themselves....

You came a long way baby was a marketing slogan for a Cigarette co. catering to women.......came all the way to  :devil2:

  • I work with a bunch of reprobates, myself. I'm surrounded by ultra-libs, a homo and a muslim(who I actually have the most in common with). All of these people are "men" in the late 20's to early 40's. It is truly sad to see what your typical American man has turned into: effiminate, homo, male-feminist, immature video game playing man-child.

I've made my thoughts are their typical conversations quite clear. I only talk to them when I have to for business related matters. The rest of the time I listen to Gregorian chant with the volume up to drown them out.

....and yes, I do TRY to pray for them.....
