  • I am no expert, but just off the top of my head

the habit does indeed make the monk.  That's how everyone knows he's a monk.

  • Caraffa, spend some time worrying about how you're blasphemng God through communion with anti-Christ, and less about skirts.
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • Yeah I lived in the  little town of St. Mary's Kansas for all the good The women wear dresses, and at the same time gossip monger about somebody that might be wearing a pair of pants. And not even really know the person that they would detract them just the same in their pretty little dresses. Just because you put your girls in a dress doesn't mean  beans! I met some of the biggest hypocrites in the world and they all just a good traditional Catholic part. -- you've got your  girls and wife in  a dress and you drink like a fish. When I lived out in St. Mary's I've never seen so much  alcoholism, back biting and gossip mongering from people in their dress

Yes modesty is very important, but not as important as a good Catholic foundation in the formation of the children. Clothing if in modesty is most important it's not what you wear it's who you are.

Yeah, thats why the article addresses modesty for men and women. I too find it hypocritical for Trad men to want their wives to dress well in skirts, but they don't themselves. (Unless they are poor as Catholic Samurai mentions above). They thus fail to lead. Is alcoholism(drunkenness) and worldliness a problem in St Mary's? Someone on another forum several year ago, stated that it was problem. For what I've heard and somewhat observed, St. Mary's seems to be to liberal for me and other Traditional Catholics.

That is true, but a good Catholic formation will lead to modesty. God changes us from the Inside-Out. This is why the Saints are unanimous in stating that outward movements and actions are signs of inward dispositions.

  • Our Lady at Fatima in 1917 warmed about fashions that will
    displease God.
I remember back in 1960, the majority of Catholics believed
in the Fatima, and awaiting the third secret that was supposed to
    be released in that year.
I do not believe that the alleged third secret released by the
    Vatican was the true one.
Today, except for Traditional Roman Catholics, the warnings of
Our Lady of Fatima are either unknown, ignored, and
    made fun of. :incense:
