  • Here are some modest swimwear that you can purchase. They have swim pants underneath them and you can get them in various colors. There are also other designs you can get such as getting these in long sleeve swim tops. The website is: http://www.hydrochic.com/modestswimwear.html

  • I'm happy to see they're offering such things, but how many modest-minded women really have $150 to spend on a swim suit?

I'll blame Walmart, but that doesn't change the fact that these are untouchable by many.

  • I love the 4th the most. Only it should be a little higher with the neckline.

  • Cute!
But some questions. (no challenge or disagreement, just for information)

why don't males and females simply swim seperately?
Does the standards of modesty and purity change from place to place, time to time? Does our nature and it's disposition change when we to to the sea?

  • Actually, there's no problem swimming with males and females together so long as it's your family and relatives... But when it comes to friends, I beleive it should be separated.

  • I don't like those suits, because they would only draw more attention to you.

  • Well it is my opinion that if a young girl or any age for that matter went into the pool wearing that, people would naturally stare.

    Please pray for my soul.

Could you clarify this statement?  What would a woman who believes in God and wants to dress modestly to please our Lord wear for swimming?  Please don't say that she shouldn't swim.
What's wrong with drawing attention to the fact that you're Catholic?  Don't we draw attention to ourselves when we have our veils on, coming and going to Mass? :confused1:

  • Nothing to clarify, I just don't like them.  You are of course free to wear the suit of your choosing.

If I were going swimming, and my swimming days are over, but if I were, I would feel quite modest in a suit like this one, and people wouldn't stare at me either.  Believe me people who were drawn to you in that style above, would not be drawn to you because you are Catholic.

They will know I am Catholic because of my scapular that I would not remove.

Not unless you are covering your face too!

I'm sure plenty of people stare at me every time I leave the house.  :smirk:

I don't think you should swim in public places at all. As modest as you might be, the other people there certainly won't be. Sure, people dress immodestly everywhere, but why intentionally subject yourself (and your family) to the worst of it?

  • I agree MaterDominici, but it is easy for me to agree, as I said above my swimming days are over a long time ago.

    Please pray for my soul.

For any traditional Catholic, it is indeed best to go on swimming in a private place.

  •   Yes Myrna there are indeed some men so desensitizied that even a woman in bikini won't attract any attention in them. Nevertheless that swimwear offends God.

  • I think the swimsuit in the image attached by Myrna is fine.
