Frances,
No, you cannot tell that the skirts were once pants.
The skirts have the jeans pockets in the front, and buyers have the option of keeping or removing the rear pockets. Many denim skirts sold these days also have pockets in the front or in the rear.
When you see the pictures, you'll clearly see that you'd be wearing a SKIRT, and anyone would recognize it as such.
These are NOT garments designed to look as much like pants as possible. They are garments designed to be able to re-purpose jeans so that women and girls who want nice-looking, modest feminine clothing don't have to hunt through over-priced imported junk at the store. They're also made out of the existing jeans material so some of the cost of sewing and finishing these garments is reduced. When my wife doesn't have to start from raw, unfinished fabric and use a pattern, there's less labor involved and more garments can be made in less time.
Don't OWN any pants or jeans, you say? WELL... here's a GREAT IDEA!
Go to your local thrift store/discount outlet/yard sale/whatever and get as many pairs in DIFFERENT SIZES as you can. If you own enough modest skirts and dresses for yourself, you can help us to help other women who don't.
Simply send us the jeans (along with a donation to offset our expenses if you so desire and are able), and we'll turn them ALL into lovely skirts in various colors and sizes, then make them available for other women to be able to purchase. We will also be making DONATIONS of finished skirts to womens' shelters, St. Vincent De Paul stores, etc.
This is a great way to be able to make modest, well-made, long-lasting skirts available so that EVERY LADY who wants to honor Our Lord in modesty can do so.
WE MAKE GIRLS' SKIRTS AS WELL. ANY PAIR OF PANTS IN DURABLE FABRIC CAN BE TURNED INTO A MODEST AND PRETTY SKIRT FOR A LADY OF ANY AGE!
It's also a great way to help our home-schooling family support itself, as 100% of the labor and shipping and receiving are done by US. There are no employees, there is no special facility, there's just us, our sewing machines and our labor of love.
We don't buy new pants from stores, we don't purchase them wholesale, we simply re-use, re-design and re-purpose pants and jeans so that they are NO LONGER immodest and inappropriate for women and girls. We DON'T CONTRIBUTE AT ALL TO THE SALE OF JEANS OR OTHER PANTS MARKETED TO WOMEN ON THE RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LEVEL.
Thanks for all the interest! Pictures are coming soon; please pray that we will receive lots of orders and/or donations of old pants so we can make a BIG impact on the way modern women see their clothing choices. We want to attack the modernist/feminist idea of androgynous and immodest clothing on every level:
Making the right clothes available at the right price
Making these items EXCLUSIVELY; we don't make, sell or customize pants AS PANTS.
Making a public, visual statement to the world that if effort is required to be ladylike, effort shall be made. If the stores only care about profit, they can sell whatever they want. We will ONLY make clothes that modest Christian ladies and girls can wear proudly.
Pray for us!
