  • Hello Family!!

I just came from the movie theater, and wanted to see if anyone has the same opinion about modern movies....

(my dear husband and I don't go to the movies at all, but we wanted to see The Hobbit in screaming IMAX 3D)

I know that our society is going down the potty at a rapid rate, and etc etc.

But it felt like just going into the theater was an occasion of sin!!

Life-size advertisements for the lewd movies, all of which seem to have no substantial plot, or are horrible remakes of older movies!

During the previews, I had the misfortune of seeing a preview for a movie coming out called "Oz", and it was so scary and malevolent, I had to avert my eyes!! And of course, the morally bankrupt Disney is behind it...

Next up was a twisted version of Jack in the Beanstalk....it was not how I remembered it as a child!!  Take your children? Sure, if you want them scarred for life!!

     :really-mad2:

Lastly, a preview (that was so long I thought I rolled into the wrong movie) for a new Star Trek installment. Sorry in advance to any Trekkies, I like the old-school movies myself, but how many more stories can be squeezed from this tired old toothpaste tube??? and the title, you ask?? "Into Darkness!!!!"  Our whole way of life is being plunged "into darkness"...why would I want that in a movie??

     :really-mad2: :cussing:

All around us, things are getting darker.  Hollyweird is a cesspool, no longer capable of making great movies like during the great Sound of Music era or when Gene Kelly brought his fantastic visions to life.

Did you know that they are trying to remake the Sound of Music??? NOOOO!!

And in the lobby, a huge poster for some warped "Hansel and Gretel" remake.  Hansel and Gretel is a twisted story to begin with, but now it is about vampire hunters. (my husband is in the world more than I am, so he brought me up to speed..)  VAMPIRES!! PUH-LEEEZE! And don't get me started on the Twilight poo...... :soapbox:

Anyhoo, thanks for letting me sound off a bit! Have you noticed "entertainment" gettting darker? What makes you upset about it??

I look forward to reading what you have to say!! (at least I won't feel like I am alone!!!!)

    Love,

    michaela EBERT (ha ha!!)+

  • Movies are probably the most powerful weapon the enemies of God have right now.

  • You are so right, Tele! (I hope that you don't mind me calling you that, I see that other people on here do :)  )

I was just mentioning to my hubby that these new 3D movies are probably being engineered to be extra offensive, since people can't seem to use their imagination anymore, and Hollyweird wants to take things "to the next level!!"

My hubby replied that pretty soon we might just have the open arenas back again, with malefactors being thrown to the lions while everyone cheers.  It really is troubling!!

    love,

  • I never watch the trailers.  When I buy the tickets beforehand I find out how long they last and take my seat a few minutes before the movie I paid to see start.

It's one thing to be advertised to when you are watching for free on YouTube but to pay 10 dollars for a seat and then be advertised to for 30 minutes appears to me as the Cinema and Hollywood taking one for an utter fool.

When you go to the ballet or the Opera or a broadway show they don't advertise before hand.

Bishop Williamson was not keen on the first Sound of Music.  He described it as pornographic.

We know you hated the trailers, but what did you think of The Hobbit?

My thoughts aren't necessarily about the movies, but yes they are very dark indeed.

The books are just the same.

Recently, I was shopping and went to the book section to shop for a book for my mother.  (I don't read these books, but I was hoping to find her something that I could actually buy without contributing to her sinfulness.)  All of the books for adults were about murders or sex.  These were for the adults.

For the "young reader" everything was dark and macabre.  Horror, vampires, dark forces, rage.

It was really sad and troubling.

When I say we live in dark times, I mean it.

  • Little misconception you have there about Hollywood being "good" back in the "good old days." Hollywood was always leftist and pro-Communist to begin with even back in the "good old days."

  • I don't even go to the movie theatre anymore. Very rarely do they play anything good, most of it is rubbish.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • "Paranorm" preys on young minds and even ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.

Disney is becoming more and more liberal.  Wrekcless Ralph I believe feature the voicee over talents of anti-Christian sarah silverman.  Avoid these movies.

These movies are becoming more violent, strange, creepy and yes, even books for young people.

The novus ordo keeps saying that concept of Hell or the CHrist on the cross is too scary for young people but they the novus ordo catholics will take their kids to see hunger games which is a movie about kids killing other kids.

What is sad that people emulate everything they see in tv or movies, video
    games.

For example tom cruise's daugher suri wears high heel shoes. And now that is all one sees in stores despite the fact that doctors say high heel shoes are bad for the feet.

And what is weird is when we went to a shoe store a man wanted to see high heel" shoes for his 9 and 5 year old.  That was weird.  And creepy.
May God bless you and keep you

  • Hollywood is dangerous because it is slick and seductive. Endless research to target the audience psychologically has re-trained the brain. People have short attention spans and movies/TV are partially responsible. And of course, the actual content of Hollywood films is typically smut. Either sɛҳuąƖ in nature or incredibly violent.

You're damn right "good old Joe" was onto something.

Hollywood was always leftist and became so pro-Communist by the late-1930's that pro-Soviet films were routinely turned out and anti-Communist films couldn't even be made.

Not to mention the Hollywood Jєωs trying to drag America into World War II.

Disney really started going down the tubes after Walt Disney kicked the bucket.

Yes--you are right.  I watched an Andy Griffith Show episode yesterday and discerned some socialist/communist principles.

Also, this Christmas season I have been thinking a lot about how the early/mid twentieth century Christmas songs being secular.  People thought they were harmless b/c the performers were so nice and smiled so much.
