Members of the Minneapolis City Council  pledged to “dismantle” the city’s police department in the wake of worldwide protests over the killing of George Floyd.
Council President Lisa Bender joined several other members in promises to drastically change how public safety is upheld in the city.
“We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a transformative new model of public safety,” Bender tweeted.

Bender Joined colleagues like Jeremiah Ellison, who said reforms to the department are not enough.
“And when we’re done, we’re not simply gonna glue [the department] back together,” tweeted Jeremiah Ellison. “We are going to dramatically rethink how we approach public safety and emergency response.”
At least two other members of the 13-person body have also endorsed drastic changes to policing in the city after Floyd died when Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck during an arrest on Memorial Day. Chauvin and the three other officers assisting in the arrest have been fired and charged with felonies.
Bender told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that she envisions replacing a traditional police department with a broader, more holistic public safety department geared toward violence prevention and community services. Social workers or medics could respond to situations once handled by police, she said.

But Mayor Jacob Frey said he’d support “deep, structural reforms” to the department but not a complete abolishment of the agency, the paper reported. And support for such a vision among Council members is not yet clear.
The body does plan to begin voting on legislation targeting the department beginning Friday, according to the Star Tribune. The Council plans to vote on legislation that would set a timeline for the state’s investigation into whether Minneapolis police engaged in racial discrimination over the past decade.

The major changes to the police force won’t come any time soon, though. Bender said discussions would ramp up later this year or next.
“To do this kind of big work, we need a deeper, broader conversation than we’ve ever had before,” Bender told the paper. “We need white people like me and my neighbors to show up in a different way.”

  • Yeah, we don't want the police to stop those people from burning down the city.
We need socialists to ask those violent people how they FEEL about that.  And
the health care workers can give them some anti-depressants.  They need to get
the violence out of their system, then America will be better.  It's the police that
cause the problem for criminals and violent anarchists.

The inmates are running the asylum called Minneapolis.

  • Soros-Backed St. Louis Circuit Attorney Releases All Rioters and Looters from Jail Without Charges Following Monday’s Mass Rioting
June 4, 2020 in News by RBN Staff

    Source: Station Gossip

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner released ALL of the rioters and looters captured this week in the criminal Black Lives Matter – Antifa protests in St. Louis.
This was after 4 police officers were shot and one retired police captain was killed in the street on Facebook live.
Missouri state Attorney General Eric Schmitt was shocked by the move.

In a stunning development, our office has learned that every single one of the St. Louis looters and rioters arrested were released back onto the streets by local prosecutor Kim Gardner.

This is nothing new for Circuit Attorney Gardner.
She has a long trail of corrupt and criminal actions.
Far left billionaire George Soros has been systematically targeting district attorney races throughout the United States. Several of his candidates have already won. His goal is to create havoc in communities.
In St. Louis City far left lunatic Kim Gardner took money from Soros in her race for St. Louis Circuit Attorney.
Soros funded PAC even released an ad in support of this far left and unqualified nutcase.

Kim Gardner won her election and is wreaking havoc on the city of St. Louis circuit attorney’s office.
Kim Gardner is so intolerable that two dozen attorneys and more than one-third of the trial lawyers left the office when she was hired. And this is a Democrat dominated office.
In early January St. Louis Police arrested a drug dealer in possession of over 1,000 highly addictive opiate pills and more than $30,000 in cash.
The St. Louis police officers also got a confession from their suspect.
But when investigators brought their evidence to Gardner’s Circuit Attorney’s office in downtown St. Louis the attorneys REFUSED to press charges against the dealer and handed the police report back to the officers!
The entire event was captured on video!
    Gardner didn’t care.
She continues to allow violent criminals to walk free in St. Louis.

  • It is entirely possible there are some situations that could easily be handled by unarmed, non-uniformed officials, similar to the German Ordnungsamt.  If a party is having a cookout in a portion of the park where charcoal grills are not allowed, or a group of golfers is being disruptive, no, that's not an issue that armed police wearing blue uniforms and showing up in cruisers need to be called to take care of.  Write up a disorderly conduct citation and strongly suggest that the misbehaving agents depart the scene, fine.  Arrest people, no.  Obviously this isn't the course of action to take with rioters and looters, but my point should be clear.  And I would add --- and I have seen this in my own life --- black Americans absolutely, positively go insane when they are accused of something they didn't do.  Nobody would like that, but with black people, their indignation goes to another level entirely.  Probably a cultural thing based on their history (which wasn't the best).  Understandable to a degree.

But the suggestions of "dismantle the police" reminded me of the post-WWII, socialist situation in Poland.  They actually did away with the term "police" and their cruisers were marked milicja --- "militia".  I asked about this, and was told that in a socialist workers' society, you do not need "police" as something set apart from the general population to enforce laws.  Rather, it is more compatible with socialism to say that you only need a militia, something of and emerging from the people, to maintain basic order, issue traffic citations, respond to auto accidents, and so on.  Socialism doesn't really presuppose "crime" being committed by the people --- it is more a notion of "we are all workers in solidarity, in a socialist society where everyone is equal, you will not have people committing crimes against others".  Nice thought, after a fashion.  In contradiction with basic human nature, but still a nice thought.  Makes me want to hug my teddy bear.

Are we seeing the same philosophy slipping its nose under the tent here?

Andy and Barney, call your office.

  • Generally, people would be better off policing themselves until this ʝʊdɛօ-masonic government is wiped away and a new government is set. Recruit new police who don't seek to be police officers. Maybe a 2 year mandatory service from a draft that that replaces cop positions every two years. This would reduce psychos and despots from entering the police forces. People who seek out a career in law enforcement should be viewed as suspect for narcissism and sociopathy. They're power hungry and status climbers. They're not really there to "protect and serve".
