This is a probably a stupid question, but being a Traditional newbie, I have to ask.
When I was converting to the Catholic Church, one of the saints that I encountered was St. Max (he still remains my favorite). I soon enrolled in the MI USA. However, before I even started attending an SSPX chapel, I discovered the MI Traditional Observance which I found intriguing and it piqued my interest and thought that there might be a differentiation between the MI I was currently enrolled in.
So for the MI members out there, is there a reason for me to enroll under the Traditional form, or is this not necessary. I would like to know before I approach my pastor.

Not a good habit to adopt. Surely he (whoever he is) is worthy of his own name.

My apologies for the abbreviations - I have been dealing with limited time lately so my desire is to get questions out when I’m actually thinking of them.
The question is about the Militia of the Immaculata and if there are any significant differences between the Traditional Observance and the non traditional one.

Never worry about asking a stupid question. It is not stupid at all. You are a new convert, to the Novus Ordo, the to the TLM, then to SSPX, and still on a journey. Good for you! I hope someone will be able to guide you.
When you say MI trad, I assume you mean SSPX Militia whose webpage I justdiscovered. And when you say MI (presumably non trad) what group are you thinking of?
If there isa sspx militia near you why not just give it a try.

The Militia of the Immaculata (MI) is a worldwide evangelization movement founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe in 1917 that encourages total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary as a means of spiritual renewal for individuals and society. The MI movement is open to all Catholics over 7 years old. It employs prayer as the main tool in the spiritual battle with evil. Members of the MI also immerse themselves in apostolic initiatives throughout society, either individually or in groups, to deepen the knowledge of the Gospel and our Catholic Faith and to spread devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
I have no experience with this group so I cannot answer the question directly. I did, however, join Third Order Franciscans back in my Novus Ordo days and am able to compare that with traditional Third Order Franciscans.
In my experience, the difference was huge. The Novus Ordo version was deeply corrupted by modernism and had little remaining of its founder's vision. This became especially obvious when I was able to compare it to a traditional version. I cannot tell you if the same problem exists with the MI but, as Nadir says, if you have access to a traditional MI give it a try.
(It is possible that MI does not have the problems I found in the Franciscans. In the popular imagination St. Francis is some sort of hippie rather than a Catholic Saint and I think the Franciscan orders often attract Leftists for that reason.)
In general, trying to figure out an answer from the forum before asking your pastor is not a good idea, especially if you are a newbie. It is possible to receive conflicting and confusing information on a forum. It may be hard for a newbie to figure out who to listen to when that happens. Just ask your pastor. He will be able to give you the answer for your specific situation.
