I came up from cork yesterday to protest outside dail eireann, i went to the youth defence office for support, I asked members to join my protest, I got a cold reception. They told me that they will lobby there local td's and stand outside the Gpo, no member of government will see them protesting outside the GPO. If youth defence wants to stop this bill they need to be protesting outside dail eireann monday to friday, instead of hiding in thier office. Please dont be afraid to take on the government, if a cork man can get the bus up and protest outside the dail, i know you dubliners can stand up for whats right. Please dont give youth defence anymore money until they take Real action

It's about local initiative. I don't believe standing outside Leinster House will have an impact. I don't lobby politicians but fully favour a picket outside their office or house.

On Monday I leafleted in an electoral area of a politician. I disagree with this Stephen Kenny regarding standing outside Leinster House. I don't believe Youth Defence hide in their offices.

It's about local initiative. On another point I was annoyed to learn a woman had to sneak in a crucifix to the Vigil for Life in Dublin in January. No religious symbols were allowed.

  • I have been asked a few times to assist on a weekly picket outside the office of a politician. I can't commit to it as it clashes with a group of us praying the rosary on the street elsewhere. I can't support everything.

  • A woman I know has made the suggestion of a "Truth Truck" to drive around where the politicians live. It would have the truth of abortion on each side of the truck and somebody would speak through a megaphone.
