  • I don't know if this is an encyclical or a book, but Pope Pius XII wrote something called A Letter to Newlyweds or something like that. I don't think it's for marriage preparation but it's probably a good traditional read for the Sacrament itself.

  • There are a whole bunch of books on Amazon.com if you look under "Catholic Marriage."  Personally, I'd recommend "Three to Get Married" By Bishop Sheen; "Marriage" by Dietrich Von Hildebrand; "Husband and Wife" by Fr. Paul Wickens.   Also, going to www.tanbooks.com and looking under "Marriage" will bring up a page of good, solid Catholic books.  Note: avoid Christopher West at all costs!  :shocked:

  • Fr. Wickens has excellent trad credentials.  I am a little surprised to see anyone here recommending something by von Hildebrand, although I don't disagree.
