Living simply and economically a life which would be ideal for a young family. The one thing I can't understand is why he doesn't hook up a water collection and feed it into pipes and have water on tap.

I have a friend who lives off grid in southern New Mexico: solar generators, a log cabin and an old RV, satellite internet, outhouse, chickens, etc.

Well, maybe if I'd been a married woman in pioneer days...It seems ideal but not at all realistic for a 60 year old by herself! I wouldn't last long without help.
