Live Streamed Adoration and Masses?
« on: January 16, 2020, 07:43:04 PM »
Is it beneficial to watch and pray before a live streamed Eucharistic Adoration on the internet, or is no more so than praying without them? Is watching a live Latin Mass any better than simply reading the missal and making spiritual communion? It's getting harder for some of us to get out often, and I was asked this question.  Thanks. 1MT

If you are unable to get out then live streaming the Holy Mass is something I highly recommend.

I recently asked an SSPX priest whether there were any supernatural benefits to watching streaming Masses or Adoration- He said "no". That it was the same as using a holy image while praying, helpful but without any supernatural benefit, the same way you can't give confession over the phone. So I guess that answers the question.

PS- What does this mean about Pope Francis' recent Urbi et Orbi that was televised?

If you watched it you received a plenary indulgence. The usual conditions of confession and communion were dispensed as part of the indulgence.
