We see books written on the Kingship of Jesus, a religious order is named after Christ the King and quite often His Kingship is referenced to and discussed here on Cathinfo.
But just what are we doing to acknowledge and promote the Sovereignty of Jesus as our King aside from when the topic is specifically discussed?
When I was a young girl (yes I was) the Dominion of Canada was under the reigning monarch of England and when ever we spoke of him we always said, His Majesty the king. Then in 1952 when he died we said, Her Majesty the Queen when his daughter was crowned. But by the mid 1960's, we dropped the Majesty and just started referring to her as the Queen. Well, no one born in the United States who is still alive was ever subject to an earthly king or queen so it will seem very foreign for many to use the term majesty BUT WE ARE ALL SUBJECT TO A HEAVENLY KING AND QUEEN.
With all the garbage that is going on in the world today I think it's time to not only acknowledge publicly but to promote publicly that we are indeed subjects of Our Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ.
I think we can achieve this quite simply. We just need a little practice.
For a couple of weeks or a month every time we say the name of Jesus in our private prayers we preface the Holy Name with Your Majesty my Lord Jesus. (Don't do this in the Hail Mary or Creed etc)
Then when we are accustomed to and comfortable with praying thus we incorporate it into our daily speech, first within our own families, great way to teach the children and grandchildren, and then within our own trad communities including here on CI.
Example: When referencing a bible quote you might have said "Well in this chapter Jesus said...."
Instead say, "Well in this chapter His Majesty, Jesus said...."
Wouldn't it be great to hear this from our priests? How about in our private schools?
By the Feast of Christ the King this year we should be very comfortable in proclaiming that we are subjects of His Majesty Christ Our King.
We're in a deadly fight. Best we show behind Whose banner we march.
One word can make a world of difference. One word, Majesty, can make a different world.
