  • I've found my old Legos. So this is my question:
are you keen on Lego? Do you use Lego instead of TV? Do you come in and play Lego with your kids?

  • I liked them as a kid myself, and I have had great fun with them as a parent and grandparent.

  • They are great wholesome fun.  I spent hours when I was much younger constructing things with them.

I also remember stepping on the tiny pieces barefoot.  That was pretty painful.  It was a good lesson in putting away one's toys after finishing with them.

  • Yeah, yeah, I'm sure that I've stepped on Lego bricks as a child.

  • I'm sure many on here would agree, but Legos are one of the best educational toys.

My wife's brother used to play with them a LOT. He is now a mechanical engineer.

I used to play with them quite a bit, and today I'm a computer programmer.

I will say, though -- I know other people who played with them who are merely very "creative" today. Many are unemployed, or work at unskilled jobs that anyone with a healthy/strong body can do.

But a single toy can't give you *everything*, including ambition. The fact that the toy helps develop the "building" and "creating" parts of your child's mind is sufficient to make them well worth the cost.

54 years young and love those legos!  Etch-a-Sketch is fun on long flights!
