THE Prime Minister has delivered a chilling message confirming what many people around the world feared: the Mayans were right.

Julia Gillard's 50-second message addresses her "dear remaining fellow Australians". She steps in ahead of CSIRO scientists to foreshadow the world's impending doom.

I am not sure whether Maya 2012 prediction is believable or not. But I am sure when the day of the next federal election comes, it certainly will be the "End of the World" for Julia Gillard.

It seems that Julia Gillard is studying hard in prediction and divination. As her days are numbered as far as her political career is concerned, that might pave the way for her next career. The new career won't be much different -- it's still lying, and making promises which won't be delivered, anyway.

I find it odd that self-professed atheists seem to be most susceptible to spiritual divinations and completely un-scientific methods of predicting the future when they claim to believe that there is no guiding spiritual being in the universe.  You'd think that this would be more a belief more in keeping with pantheism or some particular pagan religion.

And actually it is.  I've never met a real, honest to goodness atheist.  Every self-professed atheist I've ever met, after discussing such spiritual concepts, has turned out to be one whose religious beliefs are very similar to the religion of Star Wars (the original movie), that is, belief in "The Force" that flows through all living beings.

I guess that, even to themselves, that sounds so ridiculous that they insist on claiming they are atheists.

Something may very well happen on December 21st, but it won't be the end of the world.

May all the big numbers fall on Ben Bernanke's bald head and smash his little City of London/ʝʊdɛօ-Masonic gold crown. Throw him over the fiscal cliff. That would be a micro-apocalypse I welcome.
