  • I'm sorry you two can't comprehend the similarities between atheism (theoretical) and deism (practical atheism).

Atheism - God didn't create the world, He doesn't care about me and He doesn't get involved in temporal affairs.
Deism - God created the world, He doesn't care about me and He doesn't get involved in temporal affairs.

They are both VERY similar philosophies.  They are both very flawed and heretical in multiple ways.

p.s.  You can keep repeating that BS is an "orthodox jew" all you want.  This isn't some badge of honor, nor does it earn him any kind of respect, or automatically mean he's some type of moral, upstanding guy.  Orthodox jewry is way worse than Protestantism; at least protestants believe in Christ and a personal relationship with God.  Orthodox jewry is nothing more than the modern day version of the Pharaisees....their life revolves around politics and following some kind of "legalistic rulebook" which they call a "religion".

Even BS admitted his religion is about following some "600 different laws".  And why does he do this if he doesn't believe that God cares or gets involved with his life?  I have no idea but it's a strange version of insanity.

It does not matter how similar you think  they are.  Ben Shapiro does not admit to being an atheist as you claimed.

  •  He admitted to being a deist.  Deism is practical atheism.  Quit acting like an autistic person, and look at the bigger picture.

    Quit acting like a liar.

Ben Shapiro did NOT admit to being an atheist.

You lied and now you are turning yourself inside out to escape your lie.

    No.

Ben Shapiro is odious indeed, but he did NOT admit to being an atheist.

You are seriously malfunctioning to have said he did.

Glad that you are as amused as I. I am happy to share my popcorn with you.

    I have to laugh.

A carefully crafted sentence from PV prefaced with "It seems to me that Ben Shapiro…" could have avoided much.

Stating that Ben Shapiro is a "self-admitted" atheist was a lie and, as with many lies, it takes more lies to avoiding admitting the lie. So far, 4 pages of dissembling when a simple retraction would have sufficed. That PV continues to defend his absurd claim suggests that the claim was not just a simple careless brain fart.

I am curious how long it will take PV to admit and retract the lie.

If I was a liar like you, would you still claim I am OCD?

  • Shapiro was interviewed by some catholic bishop...bishop Barron on youtube...they had a lengthy talk. At one point, the bishop asked Shapiro about his belief in God and Shapiro basically stated he believed in some entity that created things (i.e. like the author of the big-bang), but that God didn't get involved in the affairs of men, he didn't care and that the OT was filled with myths.  Also, that the messiah wouldn't be God, but a political leader.  It was astounding.  So, essentially, he's an atheist.  Or, the modern-day version of a masonic deist.
So, this is a video where "Bishop" Barron interviews Shapiro?  The one I referred to upthread was the other way around, so it's probably not the same one you are referring to here.  Can you find and post it (I know there is a lot to wade through)?  I think if you could provide the interview and a timestamp it would help shed some needed light on this.

So when you repeatedly post about your belief that Sean should admit that he was wrong, is it because you are autistic or OCD?

  •  He admitted to being a deist.  Deism is practical atheism.
The expression "Deism is pratical atheism" refers to people who acknowledge the existence of a Creator (while not recognizing God's continuing providential care) but live as though there were no God.  There actually are people like that and it is reasonable to describe them that way. The expression does not mean that it is correct to use the words "atheism" and "deism" interchangeably.

Ben Shapiro does not live as though there were no God. He claims that he follows 613 Commandments that were given by God. It is not reasonable to speak of "practical atheism" in this case.  You can quite reasonably say that Shapiro has a false concept of God, but he did not admit to being an atheist.
