How sad ... I knew him quite well and considered him a friend.  He was/is a good man.  Thanks for reporting it here.  He had a very unique and infectious smile, with kind of a wry sardonic wit that I appreciated, and his kindof slanted half-smile from just one side of his mouth as he kept his teeth clenched played into it.

He ran the bookstore there at the seminary for a while, didn't he?

Here's another one who I thought would have made a great priest, but for some reason didn't make it through.  I had a class of about 21 when I first entered, and -- what was it? -- perhaps 3 got ordained.  I do think something was wrong there, since apart from a few obvious misfits (who didn't belong there), far more of the young men there would have made very good priests.

So I see that his obituary also pointed this out.  I think it's one of the things you remember about him.

I'm hoping he's having a reunion with Bishop Williamson now, along with Archbishop Lefebvre, Bishop Tissier, Father Bourmaud, and many others now.
