  • .

John Vennari took matters into hand and dealt with this aberration in his home town.

His attached article touches on a number of important questions and aspects of this scandalous sign, including a report of the local bishop demanding that the sign be taken down.  So far, so good......

I am left with wondering who was responsible for putting it up in the first place.

It would come as no surprise that this parish has a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ activist who isn't laying low very well.

  • The fact that the message on the sign was even contemplated indicates that the bishop has not properly formed his priests.  He probably has too many important meetings to attend to bother being a shepherd and father to his priests.

  • That fag Bishop is probably busy sodomizing another presbyter instead of being Catholic. If that entire diocese was just fαɢɢօt wolves in sheep's clothing, it would shock no one.

Good point.  This ought to be a wake-up call for the bishop.  God is giving him a chance to get back to what's important for a change.

Back in the day, heads would roll after this turns up.

Sad to say, I have several relatives who I won't have to ask about this because I know what they would say -- Oh, what a nice thing to put in the ad space for a change. -- Maybe there's hope after all.  -- I'm going to see if we can put that up at our parish.

I can't tell them because they'll take it and run with it.

    This is horrible.

  • Actually you have to realize that the sign is right. Jesus does have two fathers. He is the only one who can say that he has two fathers. There is his Father in Heaven and there is his putative father who is St Joseph. What the priest said in his explanation was right. However with all of this "gαy marriage" stuff in the news I can see how what he meant to say could be misconstrued and putting up that sign was confusing.

You are right Jesus is the Son of God and Joseph is his step father. However when I say that Joseph is the putative father of Jesus I am saying that within the community he lived Joseph was reputed to be Jesus' father. When Jesus called out to Joseph he said, "Father." Also when he was found in the Temple, he said that he was there, being about "my Father's business." This sense does not contradict the Apostles Creed. It might be imprudent, given the way that the sign has been misconstrued.

What the priest said is the truth about Jesus.
That many children have a father and a stepfather and vice versa (a mother and a stepmother) is a sad commentary of our times. The fact that the parents get married and don't live up to their commitments or even worse they don't bother to get married at all. They just live together and have children ad then just wander off in different directions. This should be condemned. And who are the victims of this behavior? It is the children.
Another situation is when one of the parents dies and the other parent remarries.
Jesus is the Son of God. He was conceived when his mother, Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit. However Mary didn't go through life as the single mother, She had a husband who was willing to adopt Jesus as his own child and be seen by the community as the reputed father of that child, Jesus.

YES, in the loosest possible sense of the world but only that. I will admit, the poster was horribly worded as to seem in favor of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.

What the sign had on it is a half-truth, not the truth.  And what is being overlooked here is that A HALF-TRUTH IS A WHOLE LIE.

There is the problem, a whole lie was posted on a billboard in front of a church.  The only possible effect of it is to promote the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ activist agenda, which is evil, not good.
