My question is this: is Jesus higher (more important) then any humans on earth today or ever?

Jesus is both God and man. He became man when he was conceived in the womb of His Mother. Jesus is the only God-man who ever existed or who will ever exist.

Now ask yourself the question: Who is greater - Jesus, the third person of the Blessed Trinity and so therefore God or any other man, son of Adam?

If by higher you refer to altitude, then that varies depending on where Our Lord was as any given time during His 33 years on earth.

If by higher you mean earthly rank and/or financial position, then it is clear that there were many above Him.
