  • I was thinking about how Jesus and disciples lived simply.

Then I see how most clergy and ministers live compared to laity.  Most have a nice gig while laity is struggling.

May God bless you and keep you

We're living in the modern world now; we need things like cars and phones to live, eat, and do any kind of apostolate.

That having been said, I am edified by the lifestyle of many Trad priests and bishops I have met. They DO live like an apostle, true men of God with poverty, simplicity, and focus on Christ and the spiritual life -- only born into this age instead of the 1st Century AD.

  • I think that most Traditional priests live in a spirit of poverty.  There are a few exceptions, such as in Sanford FL ... but I don't think they're the rule.

  • Many from novus Ordo live luxury lives. Many cardinals live in mansions.

Here are priests who have already been accused of child sex abuse at the Jersey Shore

The Catholic Church in New Jersey early next year will name all priests and deacons who have been credibly accused of sɛҳuąƖ abuse of minors, Cardinal Joseph Tobin announced Monday.
The naming of the alleged abusers is part of a larger effort by the church that includes a "complete review" of abuse allegations and the establishment of a victim compensation fund and counseling program, Tobin said in a statement.
The announcement comes amid a time of turmoil in the church, following abuse controversies and alleged church coverups of abuse that have led some faithful to question their support of the church and its leadership over the years. Victims' advocates said they remained skeptical that the church would do a thorough investigation or name everyone complicit in abuse.
    Cardinal Joseph Tobin

A two-year investigation in Pennsylvania found more than 1,000 victims there over 70 years and evidence of a coverup by church leaders. Some 300 Pennsylvania priests were implicated, including at least four who had spent part of their ministries in New Jersey.
There have been several cases of sɛҳuąƖ abuse by Catholic Church officials that have come to light in recent years that either took place or were connected to Monmouth and Ocean counties. Here are some of the most high-profile cases:

    • The Rev. Kevin Gugliotta told investigators that he kept child pornography on a computer at his vacation home in Pennsylvania to exact “revenge” on God for losing poker tournaments, according to the Associated Press. Gugliotta, who worked at Holy Spirit Church in Union, was arrested in Toms River in October 2016 several days after authorities charged him with uploading child porn images.  He was brought back to Pennsylvania where he was sentenced to 11½ to 23½ months in prison in August 2017 after pleading guilty to a single count of disseminating child pornography, the AP reported.
    • Former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who resigned over the summer facing allegations of sɛҳuąƖ abuse, used to invite young seminarians to a beach house in Sea Girt owned by the Diocese of Metuchen when he served as bishop in the 1980s, according to a report by The New York Times. The bishop would frequently ask seminarians to share his bed at the Shore home, according to the report. McCarrick, who later served as archbishop of Newark and archbishop of Washington, was one of the most powerful members of the Catholic Church in the United States until he was removed from the ministry in June following allegations that he molested altar boys several decades ago.
    • The Rev. Augustine Giella, a priest in Pennsylvania, collected child pornography and tried to snap pictures of a young girl showering at his retirement home in the Whiting section of Manchester, according to a bombshell report on Pennsylvania priest sex abuse released in August. Giella, who led St. John the Evangelist church in Enhaunt, Pennsylvania, was accused of abusing the girl and four of her sisters in Pennsylvania, at a Jersey Shore beach house and later at the home in Manchester, according to the Pennsylvania grand jury report. One of Giella’s accusers had come forward in 1992 and Giella was charged with child pornography and sɛҳuąƖ abuse by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, but he died while awaiting trial.
    • The Pennsylvania grand jury report also named priests who brought victims to homes in unspecified towns along the Jersey Shore. Thomas Kerestus, who had a ministry in Allentown, Pennsylvania, took a male victim on vacations to several destinations including the Jersey Shore according to the report. He died in 2014. Joseph Bucolo took a 10-year-old boy on a trip to the Shore. The victim’s parents later reported acts “unbecoming a Catholic priest” in 1971…..

  • St Patrick repented for his sins and followed Jesus.  I see the four leaf clover is replacing the shamrock.  No one would eat corn beef during Lent.  God gave St Patrick and his companions wild pig because they were starving in the wilderness.

Before the rosary, St Patrick prayed the 150 psalms. He use holy scripture to preach the gospel to the people.  He lived a simple and holy life.
