And He isn't pleased with disrespect for elderly people.

Judging by that logic that would entail showing respect to Obama, McCain, Bush, Romney, World War II veterans, ex-hippies, people who were involved in the Civil Rights Movement, old Communists and old Jews.

And technically they are liberal since they put love of money and individualism of the individaul over seeing the nation as a living organism. Liberals see a nation as a simple border which can be used to exploit individaul ambition.

How can anyone give any advice without meeting and knowing both parties involved? There's no way.

When I was talking about "respecting your elders" I was talking about the people you live with, near, and are talking to daily, not Obama, etc.  Some people you can just avoid, like ex-hippies.  Respect doesn't mean you "agree" with them, it means you don't sass them, mock them, or get in their face about your views.  You can quietly respect someone while you can't stand their views and are waiting for an opening to discuss your side of something.  Maybe you will have the opportunity or not, but you don't slam them for holding to positions you hate.   How are your Grandparents going to convert if they don't see the charity of Christ in you?  Gentleness and patience with a firm point of view on the Truth will go along way further than your way of dealing with them.  Prov 25:15 a soft tongue shall break hardness.

We most certainly can and will advise this young man to respect his grandparents, despite his political differences.  We will insist that he honor them because they are his family, and we are Catholics.

PS great post Juan Diego

Then according to your logic I should honor liberals and Trotskyists.

My ideology is quite different. I honor those who agree with my political philosophy and liberalism and Trotskyism is opposed by my religion.
