The idea that people put foreign objects or poison into Halloween candy appears to be a myth. People have tried to find even one real case of such a thing happening, and have come up empty. It's very easy to disprove a universal negative -- all you have to do is find one counterexample. And it appears that hasn't happened. I'm open to change my mind if someone can come up with a real case of this happening.

Tonight is trick or treat in my city. I have an 8 year old daughter who I have always taken trick or treating. She dresses up as a saint every year. After doing some research I'm now concerned. I have heard priests and a variety of Christians say that it's not okay to take your children trick or treating as a Christian. A former Satanist said witches can cast spells or put curses on the candy they hand out and you can become cursed by eating it. An eastern priest actually compared it to communion of satin. I have heard excorcists speak of food with curses put on it. What should I do? Should we stay home? Should we collect the candy and just not eat it? My daughter would be very sad if we didn't go but I dont want to put her in danger. Thanks.
Go to neighbors that you know.  stay away with homes that are overly decorated.

Halloween used to be fun..  so sad. Going trick or treating for candy from neighbors was fun.

(Sometimes chapels will have parties for children or parties at private homes. )
Rosary, bonfire, bobbing for apples , pot luck , cutting out jack O lanterns, piñatas , hayride, costume contest.   It’s not trick or treating. It’s actually more fun.

Yes. It has happen often. It’s not myth. Maybe it depends where you live.

Wicca is the fastest false religion growing faster while Catholicism is decreasing.  Many people celebrate Halloween 24/7 and it’s their favorite holiday.

Anti Christian hate Groups are now accepted as religion.

Where did you hear that? Chad Ripperger? :laugh1:
I'm pretty sure we say a prayer in thanksgiving for the food, not because there might be demons "in" the food.
Don't know what you say before you eat but the Catholic prayer BEFORE you eat doesn't mention thanksgiving in any way.

Benedictus benedicat, per Jesum Christum Dominum nostrum. Deo gratias, per Jesum Christum Dominum nostrum. Before and after each meal.

Yes, but generally-speaking you are thanking God for the meal and asking His blessing upon it; the primary notion is not because there might be demons in the food.
