Is there a good site on Medjugorje?
« on: July 06, 2013, 09:21:18 AM »
I was having a discussion with a NeoCath co-worker (I've mentioned him before- please pray for his conversion) yesterday. He brought up Medjugorje when I discussed the Modern popes and their condemnation of Protestants and those of other faiths. He said something to the effect of:

"well at Medjugorje, our Lady said we need to stop fighting with all these people of other faiths; if they pray to 'one God', they are praying to the same God at the end of the day. Also, its like the parable of the men who are called to work in the grove at different times during the day, and yet they are all paid the same amount for their efforts. Sometimes I get the feeling that I'm doing all this, yet someone from a different faith can get the same reward. But I want everyone to be in heaven with me!"

I told him the parable wasn't speaking of those of other faiths, but those who died in the Faith, yet converted in the end. Also, that plenty of Popes have condemned those outside the faith as not believing in the same God. I asked him, how could it be if someone denied the divinity of our Blessed Lord, one person of the Blessed Trinity, that they believed in the same God? He didn't respond to that.

Anyways- do you know of a consise list of the differences between Medjugorje and other valid Marian apparitions like Fatima, Lourdes, etc? Any links with quotes from popes and others who condemn the idea of 'everyone praying to the same god'?  Thanks!

Don't keep the conversation in the realm of apparitions.

Talk with this person about what the Church actually teaches. Show him how the false ecuмenism of the Conciliar organization is directly opposed to Catholic truth.

Only when a person knows what the Church actually teaches can they then objectively assess the truth of an apparition. Even then, the Church only declares an apparition worthy of belief because it does not contradict Truth. The fact that an apparition might be harmonious with Church teaching doesn't mean it's worth your time and devotion.

Our Lady's appearance at Fatima is not only worthy of belief, it's been proven by history to be unfailingly prophetic. Medjugorje is just modernist, indifferentist nonsense that could have come from any New Age bookstore.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

You can try unitypublishing.com, a site run by a gentleman named Richard Salbato. it has a wealth of information re medjagoogoo and the nefarious forces behind its promulgation. Mr. Salbato links to other sites and contains the works of other researcers (E. Michal Jones) and at least one former resident of the town.
This whole spiritual disaster was the result of a perfect storm where different forces coalesced. You had the Serb-dominated Yugoslav gov't wanting to shame the other ethnogroups and the local RC by infiltrating the priesthood and sparking false spiritual revivals that could be easily manipulated. You had local ubernationalist and criminal elements that wanted to create a false apparition to spark national a reawakening (a fake O.L. of Good Council, if you will). Then there is the charismaniac movement which needed a big shot in the arm in the late seventies (many of the local OFMs were in this abominable sect). And to this heady mix you can add the Tourism industry, Masonry and VII ecuмenism to create a TBN-style of phenomenon in the Church.

I wonder if one of the frauds behind these false apparitions will feel bad because of their conscience and admit this was a fraud from the start.

Hello, I did a quick search on medjugorje and this site has a pretty good and clear breakdown of why it is false:
