  • Is it ok to be developing a strong hatred towards the devil and the world? I am starting to realize just how evil this world is, in particular the control the enemy has in regard to Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ. Almost every important non-catholic leader/entertainer in the last 200 years has been a mason. Everyone from the founding fathers, to George Bush, to Walt Disney, etc. etc.

Im also starting to realize just how much of a spiritual battle it is for the christian to get through the day without falling into mortal sin. Particularly sins of the flesh for a young single man. Every day is a war against the world, the flesh, and the devil.

This whole attitude is completely opposed to the modern world which seeks to grab as much pleasure from the world as it possibly can. I don't want to be in this world because I know it is not Christ's kingdom. Yet I also know my remaining time on this earth must be used to prove myself as a humble servant.

Is it ok to literally hate the devil often and spend time thinking about how much you want the devil destroyed? Is this a healthy christian attitude?

  • it sounds protestant to focus energy on hating the devil.

  • No.  I don't think it's healthy at all.  You are working yourself up concerning a matter that, over which not only have you no control, but must exist in this world until its end.  It seems to me that putting too much energy into hating the devil can lead to despair.

  • I'll put it this way- I use my hate of the devil to deter me from sin when being tempted.

Im also developing this huge interest/hatred in exposing Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ, which is an arm of the devil.

  • Remember too, that Jesus Christ, God, became one of us, shed His blood right here on this Earth.  Think of how vast the universe is, yet God came to this planet and shed every drop of His blood.   When I think of this, Earth becomes a tabernacle in my eyes.   This is why personally I believe the Earth will never be destroyed, even when it is the end of time, and we are all in our eternity; Earth, this world will be a shrine to the angels and Saints in heaven.

I hate the devil, but I don't dwell on it! I hate him because he was so intelligent but prideful, and now he wants to drag everyone to hell with him.  Misery loves company, they say.
    Please pray for my soul.

  • You must hate the world and denounce it, for it belongs to Satan and his children of perdition. These wicked men who will bring you unto damnation must be rejected. Of course you can still be in the world and have some worldly friends but you must take care of how much time you spend with them. For you must know that they are children of Satan and will lead you to their father's resting place.

Pray for the gift of faith. Hatred/Displeasure of the world comes naturally to those of Faith. You must hate Satan and all sin with all of your heart. If you do not, then you do not love God. As the good Lord has said, he was a liar and a thief from the beginning. There is no good in him and sin consumes him. Obviously you cannot dwell on Satan, for he will take advantage of you, but you must hate him and sin with great fervor.
For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

  • Just my nutty ideas as a still relatively young person:

Fortunately, I have very few friends.

    Think about it this way.

What is a real friend? A person who loves you, right?

What is true charity? Wanting someone to obtain their eternal salvation, right?

Ask yourself: Are these "worldly friends" of mine helping me attain that goal, and am I helping them in kind?

If the answer is yes, then carry on.

If the answer is no, then you need to re-evaluate what "friends" really are.

The reason I have only a few friends, is because I will not hang around with people that are worldly and don't think at all about their eternal salvation, much less people that aren't Catholic. If I only have a few REAL friends, then so be it. It's just the way it is.

Sure it gets kind of lonely sometimes, but it's better than putting my soul in peril by hanging around with people that are heading straight for Hell themselves, or, by the temptation to keep them as friends, vying for "human respect" rather than vying for TRUE CHARITY through the TRUTH.

Hope that helps. Your TRUE friends are ones that are trying to help you get to heaven, not people that are weakening your will, and living OF the world and not IN it like you probably are doing.

    God bless you.

I do agree with you, one must be careful, on the other hand, some worldly friends can convert through your good example.

I suppose we can define friends.  I have several acquaintances of mine, people that I talk to on a regular basis, sometime they refer to me as their friend, although I don't hang around with them. I am sure you too have such acquaintances.   Whenever I can I talk to them about the Catholic church and they seem interested, as long as I don't push them too hard, just plant seeds here and there.  I tell them about Mount St. Michael, and invite them to come up, and sometime a few of them have.  A few of them stayed and converted.  Very few I am afraid.

You never know about people, and you could be an instrument in helping them find the true religion.

I agree, however if they begin to abuse the truth, it might be time to dust off your shoes.
    Please pray for my soul.

    I agree.

As far as the friends part, we do have Cathinfo and the internet to be in contact with fellow Catholics all over the world, as I am, from the East Coast, to the Midwest, to the Philippines, all the way to South America, as well as some here where I live.
