  • who feels like my life has turned into some video game or mystery where I have to figure all the secret things out to live a happy Catholic life?

I don't want to play any more.

I want to pray, attend mass, love my husband, raise my children, care for my friends and neighbors, care for my home, learn lots of different things, and work on my crafts.

Anybody else feel like they just want a more simple life?  (For all of you who are quick to judge.  It doesn't mean I want to be ignorant of world events.  I just want to live in the "controllables" and stop living in the "what ifs".)

Does anyone else feel this way?

This sounds like a great grace to detach further from the world, I will pray for you.

  • No, it’s not just you!  It’s the direct result of the loss of authority in the Church permeating downward, corrupting all of society.  Those at the bottom of the heap have no choice but to take on duties for which they are unequipped, never intended by God.
I’ve seen children having to make life altering choices and decisions because the adults in their lives failed in their duties.
    Everyone is affected.
    I definitely hear you.
It’s not a matter of being ignorant. Having to make decisions and judgments which God did not intend for your state in life is stressful and makes it difficult to perform those duties that are truly yours.
If you can just decline to take on unsuitable duties, then do so.  But often, that is not an option.  Taking no action is either impossible or has dire consequences for you and others.  In that case, do the best you can with God’s guidance. Our Lord doesn’t demand we ‘get it right,’ only that we keep faith in Him and in Our Lady.  We’re not called to success, only to be faithful.  Concentrate on perfecting those duties that ARE yours and simply deal with the others.

Remember, life is a test.....we so often forget that.  Keep your eye on the prize.

  • Yes, I do.  Why do you think I no longer want to vote?   The world is a distraction to what is really important.

May God bless you and keep you
