  • I recently torpedoed my Facebook account. That is to say, I removed myself from most groups and deleted 98% of my "friends". I only kept TWO, because I don't have any other contact info for them, and they are business contacts of a sort.

Anyhow, getting to my point. I would expect Facebook to suggest ALL SORTS of groups to me, since I have very little data in their system. Very little of my profile is filled out, and with only 2 friends, their software has a hard time guessing about me.

But SO MANY groups seem to be about disorders I've never heard of. There was one called "Zebras need other zebras" I guess it's about some skin disorder that causes stripes/blotches of a different color on parts of one's skin.

And every other disorder in the book.

When you think of all the possible topics out there, it's surprising just how many groups are about various genetic disorders. You'd swear we're living in a post-Nuclear War society where genetic damage is rampant.

All I know is -- if there are that many people suffering from disorders, then we (as a modern world) are doing something seriously, seriously wrong. Vaccines, magnetic fields, pollution, fluoridated water, birth control, etc.

  • I think you did the right first step. Stay away from FB. Waste of time, IMO.

Depends on how it's being used. Social media helped defeat that diabolical psychopath, Hillary Clinton. But even if it's used in a good way, people should still take breaks from it.
Blessed be the Lord my God, who teacheth my hands to fight, and my fingers to war. ~ Psalms 143:1 (Douay-Rheims)
