Infinite holy water hack?
« on: September 19, 2025, 10:35:11 AM »
Hello, everybody:

Can you add natural water to holy water and the whole amount retain the blessing? Can you keep on doing that "as long as there is no moral connection"  between successive additions of natural water?

I think I heard that in one of MHT seminary's livestreams, but I'm not sure.

May Our Lady keep you under her mantle!

What I do know is that there is an indulgence when you bless yourself with holy water. Yet I do see people going into Mass and coming out without blessing themselves with the holy water in the entrance font.

This is what +Lefebvre would say: " I can't understand why people bless themselves with Holy Water when leaving a church! You bless yourself BEFORE entering the nave to purify yourself because it is a holy space'..

Also drives satan away.. '  Think "Asperges me..." before Sunday mass.
At least two priests relayed that attitude to me. Makes sense. Also when 1000's are leaving a church , it creates disorder if everyone is dipping their hand in the Holy Water fount...colliding with others who are exiting in earnest, rapidly!!  Now that's a practical advice from our Founder.

Make sure you throw out any holy water on the Sacred Triduum -  Good Friday.  That would restrict your "Infinite" term. Water does corrupt naturally. Easter water is most powerful they say.

"...The response reaffirmed the traditional practice that the holy water font is empty only during the Sacred Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday) in preparation for the blessing of new water during the Easter Vigil..."

You can ask MHT directly through their website.
But I see nothing wrong with blessing yourself on the way in and the way out!
So far as I know, it’s always beneficial to bless oneself, others, or even objects, with Holy Water provided you do so with the right intention.

I think I read somewhere that you can do that, as long as the amount of water added is less than that of the "original" holy water.

I'm not sure if you can keep doing that ad infinitum, that would end up being a kind of "homeopathic holy water".  Jone might have something to say, I'll look it up.
