  • I do not live in that State, but I've been asked to provide information for someone who does.  Anybody know of a traditional chapel not under diocesan regulation, that is proceeding with the sacraments?  Preferably in the general Chicago vicinity.

Yeah, you hit a real dead spot there.

There used to be several chapels served by Bishop Slupski (R.I.P.) in the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area. But since he retired, and later died, there are that many fewer Traditional/independent priests in the area.

All the Trad chapels I know of, within a 1 hour drive of northern Illinois, are a few SSPX chapels:
    Mukwonago, WI (outside Milwaukee)
    Madison, WI
    and
    Oak Park, IL (near Chicago).

And there are Indult options such as Institute of Christ the King, but those aren't an option for many *Trad* Catholics, trying to stay aloof from the false church of Vatican II.

If you are interested in attending a CMRI Chapel which is in Milledgeville, Illinois or an SSPV Chapel in Chicago, here's some links:

  • Thank you! (Again, not for me -- for someone else.)  Thank you so much.
