  • Are these sound assessments?

    1) Many Americans can be indecisive.

    2) Most women have a hard time deciding on things. (No offense to women, by the way.)

My experience at my job (retail) seems to show me truth concerning these assessments, but am I wrong?

Hah.  No, you're not wrong.  People don't like to make up their minds, people get confused - shopping kills time.  This is a consumerist society where people are short on money.  I just hope customers aren't returning clothing after wearing it out!

Don't you work in what might be considered a gift shop??

    Those are BIG decisions!  :laugh1:

Yes, I work in a gift shop, but doesn't the thought count most of all really?  :laugh1:

  • I do not get shopping.  Stores are to begotten in and out of as quickly as possible.  Early on in our marriage, I told my wife that I was going to the local mall to buy a birthday present for someone.  I said I would be back in about an hour.  It was a 40 minute round trip.  She expressed astonishment that I could do this so quickly.  "Why?" I asked.  I know exactly what I am gong to get and exactly where it is.' She told me I just didn't understand.  She was right.

You might want to be careful about throwing around the "ey". I'm far too ethnic for that stereotype to apply to me. Anyways, I've only ever heard one person say it on a regular basis, and French people are the ones who do it the most. It usually comes out as "eh" most of the times.

No one likes those Frenchies anyways. Them and their silly language :fryingpan:

  • It's 'Eh' and it is used to pose a question without using a 'who' 'what' 'why' or 'where'.

The French are not the ones who use it the most, Newphies use it the most. But then again Newphies also speak their own language. Kinda like Jamaicans except it's fisherman slang.

Maybe we should assume all 'dem yokel's in dem states sound like they be der in mississipi. right y'all? ;)

That is "hein," pronounced like a nasal "eh."  It's their version of eh.  Although Canadian French is very weird-sounding and kind of flat and Americanized, so I'm not sure what their "hein" sounds like.

Anyway, that is not the same as the famous Canadian "eh" heard from hockey announcers.
